Oh, my bad, I thought you were looking to significantly improve it from an unloaded bed.

 

i mean I'm looking to improve it, but i know that weight alone isn't going to fix the problems lol

 

Actually, it'll solve most of the ride "comfort" issues, I loaded my truck up with an extra 300ish lbs of tools and gear when I drove down to the FSAE competition and the on road ride improved 100x

 

how does it feel pulling your sled?

 

Not bad, two sleds and it rides pretty decently, with the truck still remaining level I should add.

Oh, I've never had bucking on the street, and don't drive as fast off road when towing so I can't really compare it.

When actually driving offroad (not towing) the rear end will buck but I tend to drive too fast at times and then the rear reminds me to slow it down. The LR bumps (in the rear) definitely up the comfort zone for speed tho.

 

yeah it's only happened now that the front is better and i can go faster, i drive slow around town lol

 

more weight will make the ride smoother, but it also means you need more valving to let your shocks dampen all the weight coming down, so you need to properly valve your shocks.

 

yeah i plan on rebuilding my 2.5's myself
1.) to learn how
2.) to valve it correctly after the weight is what it will be for a while

 

are your 2.5s blown or leaking?

 

I don't have them yet, the front ended up costing more than anticipated so I'm pushing the 2.5's and shocks hoops off for a little bit.

 

if they arent blown or leaking then you dont have to rebuild them. Dont revalve them until you run them and determine if you need to.

 

I think the advantage is you can "tune" them easier and can bolt them right up? SOA will buck more often than not but I bet with a properly dampened 2.5" shock it'll settle down alot (just need $$$ to find out lol)! I've got a 60lb sand bag from homo depot under my spare tire and think it smooths out the springs better!
