think i saw someone on 275 north around 12:15? silver DCSB with bull bar with 2 lights on it. idk maybe small lift. idk what kinda wheels but did not look stock.

Had a good reason to trade it in. In the 3 years I owned it I had to replace the tranny twice, rear end once and the radiator once. I prob got a fluke taco, but my warrenty is about up and it was starting to act up again. And 1C271, id put this 4x4 hemi against your rig anytime.

This is very true because I remember you having problems back when I had mine. Definitely sucks that you got a soggy taco. I'm gonna be looking for one. I just moved up to Knoxville so my commute to school and work is next to nothing so mpg is no problem anymore.

 

Hemi or not it would still out tow, run, climb your taco...and thanks for the cookie.

 

Taco, yeah I'm sure I just got a lemon. I'm still trying to talk the woman into getting a 2012, but she is scared because of mine.

i love the new front ends! lol that sounds just a tad wrong. i also live the new steering wheel. i don’t see the chance of getting another lemon(or soggy taco) very high.

Ain't driving that far for a truck. I'm not really in a rush, but if I find one and it's good then I'll chuck the 3. Just found an '86 4x4 with 12k on a rebuild for 3k so might drive down to Madisonville and check on it.

 

Damn! Is it a 22re? 3K is really cheap if its in good shape! Watch out for rust, my 94 had quite a bit on it but luckily mostly surface rust

 

I'm considering taking a new job in Knoxville and know nothing about the area. Can some fellow TW members point out the good/bad/otherwise about the area?

 

east knoxville is the kinda bad area. i won’t go their unless i really need something. North knox is good i lived in halls for 16 years. west is also good. the mall and Turkey creek. south knox is ok from what i know.

what kinda job you thinking about taking?

 

toyota of Knoxville is a good place. nice people, and do the work you take it in for. same with Fox toyota thats where i go because it’s closer.

 

depending on where exactly your job would be. i would say look for something in north knox or west. Halls and Powell and the 2 main smaller community in north knox county. halls is on the east side of I-75 and Powell is on the west side of I-75.

also depending where your job is. i may look at maryville or Alcoa. they are in Blount county thats south of Knoxville. Clinton, oak ridge, Andersonville, are not bad places they in Anderson county thats north of knox county. they have more rednecks. lol. but from most of knoxville you are about 30 min drive.

edit: also we do get snow some in the winter.

 

Thanks! Some excellent information. This is a sales job and my territory would be centered around the Knoxville area (and surrounding counties). I'll start looking north and west of the city. I really appreciate the help.
