I am speaking mostly facetiously, but yeah you are right he is untradeable. Perhaps NY plans that they would keep both of em. Though it hardly seems like an ideal playoff recipe.

I suspect he wants to stay in Boston. He would rather take a year off than be traded. By taking a year off, he can wait and see what happens with Boston's goaltending situation. He may end up in a jersey by Christmas, ya never know...

That's a good idea, just wish i could go. Damn, no one can afford 830 bucks a ticket, what are they thinking!

 

I have accepted the fact that I will not see the finals in person. If I had a real career it would be feasible to take a $900 hit for a ticket. I went to game 3 against the yotes and got to see them at their best all year after going to 6 games this year.

 

I know I wont be seeing them, but I'm in denial. Hard to accept lol. I only went to one game this season, last home game against Sharks. I normally go to more games, but this season was tough to find the time with school. Game 3 against the yotes was quite a game!! Haha

Its a nice thing for him to do. He clearly doesn't want to play anywhere else, and at 38 he's gained the ability to choose IMO. So by him taking a year off he's just not gonna go fuck whatever team Boston trades him to, and you know what kind of organization they are. They cut players throats all the time. Remember when Savard had his concussion and tried returning while they tried to trade him behind his back. Classless

 

So is Thomas's cap still on the books? Does he have a NTC? I could see him going to Detroit, he's from there I think.

 

His cap hit still counts. It is something to do with it being an over 35 contract. His NTC expires on July 1, but no one is going to take a goalie that is talking about taking a year off. He is from Flint, MI so he may go to detroit. He also has a house in Colorado Springs so the Avs could be a possibility.
