And you'll need that Warranty because after 80k miles Fords are usually dead. Especially one that you 4x4.

    It ends here...

I'm not going to get into a Ford vs Toyota debate here. All of us on this board bought Tacoma's for a reason. Not because we cant afford a Raptor because I'm sure with the amount of money most of us have spent or will spend on our Tacos we could have bought one. Its because Toyota's are one of the best trucks out there. And if you don't think so then you have no reason being on this forum - end of story...

not quite... Stock Raptor hit the jumps pretty good this weekend. Frame is still straight as an arrow.

The frame issue occurred on a very minimal number of vehicles, your talking less than 1% of those produced and only the ones that were driven to the absolute limit. We were possibly the first to discover it before most other reported incidents and the first to come out with a solution in our reinforcement kit ($100) which is yet to have a reported failure.

The truck that it happened on originally gets beat more than any other raptor out there and the frame held up fine until he jumped it 30+ feet at Sycamore, a Tacoma frame would handle that much better IMHO... and it costs a considerable amount more to reinforce the open C-channel frame on a Taco.

Stock to Stock or even Stock to Modded it will take a considerable amount of work for a Tacoma to keep up with a Raptor in the dirt :2cents:

If there was a fully built tacoma, vs a fully built raptor Raptor would take it. Its just got so much power

We can debate all we want :) banter makes for good conversation

I have had the pleasure of driving both, people know where my loyalties are ;). The Raptor is a beast of a truck right off the lot, no debate there, put the kind of money some have into their Tacomas into a Raptor and you have a monster of a truck.

Good point, but Tacos start out much much cheaper than a Raptor so to get to $45k plus Tax title and lic and you would have to spend almost $25k in mods on a Taco to match just the sock selling price of a Raptor.

Agreed, but with more than $25k left until I hit the price of a stock Raptor I think if we go dollar for dollar the raptor loses. Bring me $18k worth of raptor, or let me put another $25k in my truck and I win all day long :p

Alright so talking New truck to New Truck here:

    Raptor sticker= $42,975
    Tacoma DC 4x4 OR = 34,040

The TRD Off-Road DC is the closest optioned Tacoma to a Raptor which Sticker to Sticker leaves one only $8,935 dollars for improvement before you have already reached the Raptor sticker price. These numbers are straight from Toyota and Ford, it would be near impossible to build a "Raptor Killer" for that kind of money :D
