It's 2012. The 2013 models are not out yet.
Your truck is only 1 model-year old... you've had it for 2 years.
I'd hardly call that "used" when you got it!

Do you want 4x4 because you NEED 4x4, or simply because you want the "Brodozer" look?

If you just want the look, it'll pass when you realize that gas isn't cheap and everything you want to do to make the truck look badass is going to knock your fuel economy down bigtime.

    I bought a '94 5-lug. Traded it in November 2002 on an '03 Tundra.
    I put over 220k on that 5-lug.

Couple shocks, some old tires, and a bad paint job
Leave it stock, buy an older 4x4 22r/re Toyota pickup and beat that thing up and not your clean newer truck.

While everyone is here, I have a question. Is there ANY other way to lift the front end of a 1st gen 5 lug other than a body or spindle lift?

Spacer lift, Fabtech Uca with coils, I think doetsch tech makes an upper arm as well to give you lift

Your parents bought you a (nearly) new truck. Drive it and be happy.
You don't want to cause any tension in the house by selling a gift.

Plate front bumper 3 inch lift Usual stereo stuff
i decided on a 3 inch spindle lift, and add a leafs for my 96 5-lug. Selling it wouldn't give me enough money for a equally reliable 4x4, and i plan on lighter off-roading such as trails, cross a few streams, not quite rock crawling or mud-bogging. This whole decision to me would depend on what kind of off-roading you plan on doing. Another differences is if your parents would let you sell your truck you could get a nice 4x4, as your truck has a lot of value in its factory condition.
