    An advisor at the dealership told me I would be fine to run 4WD on the roads. This is due to plastic cap stuck in Transfer case.

    What do you think? I'm certain this can't be good.

    Working at Enterprise, we sometimes rent trucks with 4x4 (Rams, F-150s, Colorados, Canyons, Jeeps). You won't believe how many times we get these vehicles back and they're in 4H (sometimes even 4L!!). I'm surprised we haven't had any come back with serious mechanical issues yet.

    You can run it on pavement in a straight line as mentioned above but even then, why put your drive line through unnecessary stress. Everything stays plenty 'lubed up' anyways. I only use it when I need it and when the conditions are bad enough to let the tires slip.

    I wouldn't take advice from him anymore.

    Our trucks lack a center differential. They are essentially locked front to rear when in 4wd.
