I've never been a fan of the BFG Rugged Trails... took them off my dodge at 500 miles... I've had some bites on Craiglist trying to unload the ones off my '09 Tacoma w/ 1000 miles...

    Trying to decide between:

1.) Goodyear Silent Armor (had them on my previous truck and were the best tire in the snow I've ever had, and also outlast the BFG AT's)

2.) BFG All Terrain KO's (had them when I lived in FL... nice until a near blowout on the highway...)

3.) Big O AT (the local tire shop swears by them says they'll outlast the BFG and they have an excellent warranty included...)

4.) Any others that you may recommend...

    These factors are most important:

snow/ice traction, treadlife, decent offroad capability, smooth ride/stay balanced...

I have run Goodyear Silent Armors for about 20k on my truck with no complaints in all kinds of Vermont weather conditons. They only saw one winter though since I opted for studded winter tires this season due to towing. Overall I really am happy with my purchase & would buy another set. I bought them at the recommendation of a few TN members who know a lot more about tires than I do & they did not steer me wrong.....

Good to hear... I put ~35,000 miles on a set I had mounted on my '05 Dodge 2500, and they were the best tire I have ever owned...

Even though they are the same size, they are bigger than the stock Rugged Trails... And, they ride so much better...
