    Hi Guys,
Sorry if this a noob question:eek:. I'm looking to buy a 2012 DBL Taco in the next month. Just drove a Sport and an OR yesterday. And almost bought the Sport because I love how it drives (like a boat on still water) but i think the hood scoop and wheels are ugly. I liked how the OR looked but hated how it drives. I'd rather build my truck from the ground up and can do with out the TRD stuff. I'll mainly be driving on street with little off road. Is it possible to build SR5 to make it ride like a Sport? Any suggestions?

    True

The skewp forces the front end of the Sport model into the road creating the more confortable ride you experienced , this was a technology Toyota brought over from it's F1 program before pulling out of that sport in 2009 . McLaren modified this concept into their F duct system in 2010

Wait.. So the dealer was spoon feeding me shit when they said my coils were upgraded to TRD coils on my PreRunner when I got the rear leaf TSB done a couple years back?

    We have a winner!!!

TRD Sport and SR5's use the same coils, not sure if they have the same shocks or not for 2012 though.

The 2012 TRD Sport has the 4 leaf pack from the factory, the TRD OR and SR5 only have 3 leafs so you'd have to either get the TSB done or buy a 4-leaf pack. TRD Sports also have a thicker sway bar (or so I'm told).

Really?!?! Is it an SR5 with a TRD Sport badging or did you have to take it in for the TSB?

Whatever you do, don't buy a Sport and take off the hood scoop. The ECU will detect this and retard your timing. You will end up losing horsepower.

Starting in 2012 the US model Sport and SR5 have the 4 leaf pack , the Offroad has 3

Damn, that sucks for the TRD Off Road (not that the 4 leaf packs are great but at least they're 'better')

Did they specifically say 'springs' or did they just say 'suspension' or something less specific? They're supposed to upgrade the shock portion to the bilsteins, but the coil springs themselves should stay the same.

So there's no rhyme or reason as to which trucks for the 4-leaf pack for 2012??
