Well i couldnt find any other post that had exactly what i wanted so i figured id post my own. I should be getting a 2nd gen within the next couple of months or so and plan to get a 4x4 or a trd prerunner. I am also planning on getting a 6 inch lift on either of them with 35's. I also plan to regear but was wondering if i did regear how my gas would be? anyone have this set up? I will probably end up going with an all terrain like the general grabber at2 or something.

I have 35s with 4.56 gears and gas isnt too bad. Havent really tracked MPGs, but as long as you are easy on the gas, it should be close to stock. A lot of power though, more power than stock.

Is yours a prerunner or 4x4? And a lot of people say 4.56 while a lot say 4.88...which would be closest to stock for 35's?

Yeah i know. My friend has 33's with 3 inch lift on his and he said he gets about 18. If someone was to say id get about 10mpg id probably have to step down lift size and tires.

4.56s and 37" tires are close to stock.

4.10s and 35" tires are close to stock

I have 4.56 gears and 35" tires and it is NOT close to stock haha

    I am 4x4.

4.88 gears are kind of weak in our small axle housing, they grenade quite often.

4.56s make you accelerate pretty damn fast with 35" tires, but you lose top speed. You will also be around 3000 RPMs on the freeway.

remember with gears, you trade top speed for acceleration, and vice versa.

That makes sense. And its not like many people that own lifted trucks have a goal to reach their top speed. But I dont really want to do it for gas as much as i do to make it better on the trans.

Iirc, 4.10s for 33s, 4.56 for 35s, 4.88s for 37s. But 6" loft and 35s will yield you about 12-15 mpg on normal driving conditions.

damn really? I have 33s, stock gears and I just got my best tank ever on all freeway driving...14.9..I usually average about 13.

Is it because you regeared you get this "almost stock" milage? When I was stock I was getting like 17-19

Did you account for the tire size difference on your speedo?

I thought my mileage really dropped when I put new tires on - but I didn't account for the speedo/odo being off (at first).

I recently bought an UltraGauge, so now I know it's accurate. I went from 13-15 to 17-19mpg. I was calculating it all wrong, lol.

my stock gears and 33s were not too happy off road, definitely needed the 4.56 gears for my 35s. Not too sure about highway driving tho, havent been racing any civics recently.

Auburn, Yukon (some people say they are noisy), Nitro, East coast gear supply (ECGS) has a good reputation, send them your member and they do the work and ship it back to you. I think shipping is free is you spend $500.. I'm not sure and don't quote me on that. A few searches will point you in the right direction.

I got the nitro gears off the group buy.

Total front and rear 4.56s installed out the door was $750
