I cut some wires here. Added some wires there.
My story is the same as everybody else's only I got childish. Just remember to get childish with Toyota and not your dealer or service manager. They don't care, it's Toyota telling them no. They'd love to do the work seeing as how my bill (didn't have to pay) was for almost $1700. After I filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and Federal Trade Comission for false advertising of the payload capacity Toyota called me and said "Jesus Christ already! FINE!" They made sure to state on the bill that the truck was fine and the "tsb did not apply" and "might not correct customer concerns" and was done for "customer satisfaction." I don't care, I win. :)

Squeaky wheel gets the grease. At least its fixed. Toyota Corp made a conscious decision to soften up the ride on these trucks to satisfy the 90% of truck drivers that will never off road, never carry anything heavier than groceries, or will ever use the vehicle as a truck. You cannot blame them fro trying to push that aspect of the ride quality.

For the rest of us that actually use the truck as a truck and sometimes get it dirty, I cannot understand why Toyota would push back on making this change.

This is so true, I can see offering the soft ride on the stock prerunners but when you step up to the TRD OR or Sport, they should upgrade the springs as these were bought for a reason.

It's amazing how some dealers will fight the TSB on an '09 and some dealers like mine,it wasn't a problem.
Dealers gets paid by Toyota to do this.
Ok,maybe say 30% less than retail but they still get paid.

I'm one of the few who actually loves the soft ride.I don't go off road and usually only load up my cargo bed occasionally with landscaping stuff,an appliance here and there and other purchases for my house.
Help relatives and friend out occasionally too.
I bought the TRD Sport because I like the TRD Sport package over the non TRD models.
    Nationwide,I don't think I'm alone.:)

Toyota all weather floor mats. Mag light that clunks around in the jack compartment. Dog hair. Dog drool on the windows.
it depends on who your dealer knows at Toyota.
My dealer said he had a list of 12 people to call so if one said no, on to the next.

I thought the same thing. I tow a small bass boat and do light offroading just to get to fishing holes or on the beach and didn't notice a problem or care. Then I helped a friend move. Once the bed was loaded full of heavy ass old furniture I noticed and went on a mission. I still think the "sticker" is the end of this tsb but that's another thread.
