The roof rack looked pretty intimidating in my rear view, flying down the trail.

Mike, I'll have new tiers too pretty soon, soooooo, trip in August???

with another wheeling trip just week away, itis time to start prepping the truck. #1 on the list was to mount the fire extinguisher rolling around on the floor in the back seats. Used my standard design to make another quick release mount for it. have one on my other rack that john is getting in a week, and it works great.

also got some freebies from work. these are jack stand plates. they are used at construction sites when work trailers are set up on soft ground. the tires, tongue jack, and jack stands all go on these to spread out the load. I was able to grab two of them when they took one of our trailers away and said they didn't want them back. put a spraycan in the picture for scale. will make a good off road jack stand pad, or even a supersized hi-lift base when the standard orange one isn't big enough.
they are not load rated, but i have faith that they will be strong enough to help.

Looks great Colin. That rack is full of goodies. What did you use for the shovel mounts? I'd like to get those.

Got the original size. They are good for the shovel i plan on mounting. I'm going right to End of Road. They will ship it out from Tennessee today. Should have them in a couple of days.

    very nice!

little tip, if you haven't already, invest in a shovel with a fiberglass handle. i had a wood one oruck for about a year and a half, and we came across a little forest fire on a wheeling trip, and part of the way through putting it out (shoveling sand/dirt onto it), it cracked right at where the blade met the handle. sun and moisture do bad things. my new one has a wood core, wrapped in fiberglass, about 1/4'' thick.
