Then we're back to turning off the water. Save some water up, then spray the rest of the fence to match .

I pictured the top looking newer and the bottom exposed to sprinklers being silvered from constant wetting/drying, which I think is what I see around here, and I thought it would be a smaller, sandable area. Or I'm high.

    It's just that it's a really dark stain. That's what's deceiving.

I would bet that a few stratigicly placed burns with a sire throwing device, could fix the issue.

That looks like the original color, sprinklers arent staining the fence, just taking the stain off..best way is to powerwash and restain.

I agree. I didn't say they were staining it, I said they were bleaching it

    And I can't powerswash :(

Sorry, not trying to. The only reason I remember is because he was so adamant about it when I mentioned it. He was getting red faced and flustered about it. Hilarious.

Part of the fence on the far right looks to be dark stained. The rest looks like weathered wood as if it never had stain. The bottom in the corner looks like new wood. Maybe I'm high as well.

It's the picture, and the fact that I took it in very low light. The right side is is great shape, the corner is in terrible shape, and the left side is in decent shape, as far as original stain goes.

That's pretty gross dude. You'll be amazed what a pressure washer will do. It'll all look closer to that light spot when you're done, and then you can stain as you like.

Again, I cannot use a pressure washer, due to drought restrictions that will be in affect for the next couple for years.

Help me think outside of the box guys.

Sorry bro. I'd try bleach water and one of those oversized brillo pads then, or maybe a chemical wood stripper. Then restain.

I bet you could get away with going over the old with some semi-transparent stain similar in color to the existing from the depot. Won't put you out much money and if it doesn't work as well as you like then, well, it didn't cost you much.

 do the power washing during your allotted watering time. Grass watered and fence power washed.

That's where in at unless anyone comes up with a better idea. I'm sure I'll be able to tell a difference because I know about it, but from afar it will have to look better than it does now.
Pressure washing/washing vehicles, etc is not allowed at all.

I'd park my truck in the yard during watering time and let the sprinklers wash it

Good luck then.... scrub brush, bucket of water w/bleach :notsure:

Have you tried peeing on it? That's all I've got, other than stripping it and re-staining it.

Since you cant do what the general public reccomends for best working(powerwash), your only other options are to put a new fence up, or stop asking what to do..
