Sprinkler system bleaching fence, how can I fix it?

Correct, I can't do what's best. I want to know what people can come up with for second best. I'll put you down for new fence. Thank you.

Not really a good option because the other side of it is my neighbors and its stained.

 

Sand and stain. It may take a little longer, but between watering restrictions and replacing the fence completely, seems like a mighty fine idea

Edit: Or you could install a well and have all the free water you want

 

Use some Lifetime and bleach it all one colour , including the neighbours side

What grit should I used, and I assume I can use my orbital sander?

 

Maybe an 80 or 100, and then finish it off with a 200 and stain, orbital sander would work fine

 

So that will bleach the stain that's already on there? Not sure how my neighbors would react to that, I haven't even met them yet.

 

Does that only come in the one color? Or are there different "shades" to choose from?

 

use the taco and pull it down, put a vinyl one up..take plenty o pics.

 

It's not really a colour , it reacts with the natural oils in the wood and essentially hastens the wood to a weathered look and closes the cells of the surface as well

So I slop that stuff on, and all of the fence, stained and worn, turns back to the natural color?

 

I've used Olympic Deck cleaner on a nonstained and unsealed cedar fence to remove greying with decent results. You dilute it was water and apply with a sprayer, but i think you may be able to add it to a pressure washer. Wear rubber gloves and goggles as the cleaner is acidic. But yeah definitely re-adjust those sprinkler heads. I used to install and service sprinklers and saw many stained fences and wet foundations.

When it comes to sanding I always start high

 

It's a fence , probably rough sawn or band sawn boards , 60 grit rips the dirt and dead wood out quick , from there it's up to how smooth you want it .

When I belt sand rough timbers we start with 36 grit belts
