Man, this trip looks like a lot of fun. Something I could tag along in my stock 4x4 and have a good time. Unfortunately, that timeframe is up in the air for me right now so it has me kinda sad really. I probably wouldn't know if I was able to go until the week of.

Being a newbie member/lurker (I can claim that title currently, look at my post count) this kind of trip has me interested. Honestly, I would say this would be a perfect trip for new NorCal members if you all would consider that. Cool spot (check), off the beaten path (check), fun stuff to do (check), no mod required (check), fun for folks with mods/gear (check), lots of other stuff to do depending on what kind of stuff you have (check). How can you really beat this?

I've been checking out the other NorCal posts for trips/crawls you all have done and I feel I just don't have the truck outfitted (or will any time soon) to tackle them. But, this one just looks like a ton of fun for everyone to meet up, get the hell outdoors, and socialize.

Damn, I wanna go more after reading my own post :)

The Pacific Crest Trail is about 1/4 mile from the camp site.

That is one hell of a trail. I had no idea that even existed... on the website it mentions that its non-mechanized only though. Are there parts that you know of where people bike? Or should I bring the horses?

Looks like I'll be going solo. Since my wife is having a "girls night out" (whatever that is)

I may bring my son if any other kids are going.
