    That is pretty sweet:D I'm :jellydance: I can get like 5.5" travel on the front :anonymous: That's max by the way, not sure what actual travel is haha.

    Stock they have 11" of travel. You must have some seriously awesome spacers in there to lose half of your travel. Shoot the new tundys have 14" of travel stock, more than a raptor. Tacomas are really quite capable out of the box. I did some pretty gnarly stuff with a mid travel setup.

    Really? Wouldn't max travel be the difference in the length of the shock fully extended vs fully compressed?

    It's measured at the wheel, droop to stuff. The coilover is at a 2:1 leverage ratio or so. 2" of wheel movement is equal to 1" of shock stroke.

    So if i want mid travel, so i can go at a moderate/fast pace and not destroy my struts/shocks, i need some mid travel coil-overs, probably new CAs, some 5150s (shocks with a resi) in the rear and a new leaf pack.....wheres my lotto ticket!?

    you'll def want some C/O and UCAs before you go hauling ass off road.
    and some new leafs the stockers are pretty rough even with the AAL as you noticed/ heard when i jumped my truck

    i wouldn't classify your set up as mid travel as much as i would classify your driving style as mid travel:cool:

    The leafs are not even really my concern, its the shocks. I would need some 5150s or something with resis in the rear as much as i would need coil overs in the front. Im only really dreaming at the moment, not like i have the cash now. But really thinking about the direction i would want to take the truck. While i thought i wanted a crawler oriented rig i realized it would be a lot more fun (especially considering where I live) to have a well rounded jack of all trades lifs that can handle some fast driving without that frail feeling like its going to fall apart. I don't want plate bumpers, too much weight, so a low profile tube makes a lot of sense any way.

    My plan is to go mid travel too. Im thinking fox or icon coilovers with remote resi, UCA, LCA, and just get extended shocks for the rear. Then if im still feeling horny ill start the sas project.

    Im talking 5+ years here. A decent mid travel would probly be in the 3-4k range. And if one day i feel its not enough i might sas it. But ill most likely just get a 1st gen toyota pickup with the solid front axle and just lift and lock it.

    Well your front end would be way ahead of your rear technically in terms of response. You rear suspension would really limit you for speed for mid travel stuff unless you got packs that are more made for that kinda stuff. In other words more soft.

    No yours in not. While yes the UCAs gave you more uptravel..you don't have that much more down travel.

    AALs and high speeds..does not mix lol


    yea id say yours is. Well..are your sway aways standard length or extended. Cause if they aren't extended then no its not full mid travel.

    Okay guys..serious question time..

    Should i just buy a new Wheelers 5 pack and paint the truck..

    or should i get new custom Alcan leafs..and MAYBE paint the truck..

    Alcans will run 700 bucks shipped. And if i want the new pivoting Orbit Eye bushings it'll be 900 bucks..Speaking of which..any thoughts on the Orbit Eyes??
