The fuel stanks and they smoke like a sonofabitch and they are heavy and the fuel cost a lot. I really hate those retarded smoky fords.

My neighbor has a dark gray Silverado (looks good), but really likes my Tacoma. In fact, after seeing the options on mine, he's added similar side steps, toolbox, and window visors. Now he's talking 4x4 and drooling over my winch. I suspect his next truck might be a TRD Off-Road.

I was strongly considering the F-150 (took several for a test drive and had it all priced out with colors, options, etc), but quickly changed my mind after seeing the Tacoma.

I would love to make a poll about which supermodel comes to my house tomorrow to cook naked. It has a better chance of happening than a midsize pickup with a diesel in the US.

The Bad news: in the next few years people all over the world except north america will be able to buy compact pickups with better towing, better power, better fuel efficiency from Volkswagen, Toyota, Ford and Chev.

The Good news: I have a paid for 2010 4 cyl 4x4 access cab that I love

The hopeful news: in 13 years or so when I retire the thing there could be a diesel option pickup that I like that doesn't put out 800 Lb/ft of torque

Sadly, I think you'll see a hybrid before you see a diesel. Toyota is committed to hybrids as their fuel efficiency strategy for the north american market. My theory - which is worth what you're paying for it - is that we're treated differently because of the CAFE rules. Hybrids are an easier way to hit the fleet number.

I didn't vote because I didn't see the option for "My god when will these diesel Tacoma posts end".

I hope tia when Toyota sees this and decides to release it they have an option that comes with the exhaust stacks through the bed with the little flapper on top so I can be cool like the cute ford guys.

I have a VW TDI and it burns cleaner than a gasoline engine. That is why diesel is more expensive. Next time your at the fuel pump read the label on it "Low-sulfur". The new thing in the works is "Ultra-low-sulfur". If you think I am making this up-go to a VW dealer and test drive the new TDI. Then drop to your knees and smell the exhaust...The main reason why toyota doesnt have a diesel yet is because of the tree huggers. The sinky a$$ ford products left a "foul" oder in the taste of the public. VW, Audi, Benz and BMV manufacture their engines in Europe then ship them to the assembly locations throughout the world. It costs a boat load of money to R and D these engines. Until the public buys into it-its gonna be very difficult for it to happen. I say go vote Republlican and maybe we can get the tree huggers to see the light- look what happened in WI tonite...

hey snapperhead.....you need to get a clue

VW installs high efficiency diesel engines (60-80mpg) in their cars on US soil then they ship them overseas for export to the EU.

Your so wrong someone needs to slap you back into reality. You really think big oil has nothing to do with clean high efficiency diesels being banned in the US??? So the lack of clean efficient diesels is really due to tree huggers wanting dirty gas engines and has nothing to do with the republicans sucking Mobils dick...yep your nucking futz all right

R&D a diesel costs allot... lol...yea cause they haven't been around that long

I hope you don't have any spawn your teaching all this bullshit to.

    Oh and I am a republican....you are a moron.
