The license plates off of my wife's Rav4 was stolen yesterday. We filed a police report, contacted USAA (insurance), and made an appointment with DMV. I can't believe out of all the vehicles on my block that they would take my plates. In addition to being Veteran plates, we also had an Iraqi Campaign Ribbon and Airborne Wings decal on the rear window. I don't think Veteran's deserve any special treatment or recognition, but I figured it might at least deter someone from stealing my plates.

Oh, and these plates are not custom. You may still make fun of them, but I swear we ordered random non-sequential plates. Some inmate stamping these plates got a good chuckle out of it I'm sure. I started calling my wife's car the hug-mobile, and she didn't find it as funny as I did. Now that I think about it, maybe she stole her won plates.

    Question for you guys...

I got the TSB done for my squeeky clutch ~4 years ago. Back then I was under warranty and there was no problem. Now (way out of warranty) and the squeek is back. Can I ask them to fix it again under the TSB or am I SOL?

Getting rid of my FJ was one of the biggest mistakes of my life, but what can you do. We tried to take the MDX out to the lake the other day and got a couple scratches on it and it sucked. the thing just isnt made for off pavement at all. So a runner is more in line. So the wife will have a nice SUV she can haul the baby around in and we can take on family trips out of town. The 4runner will work nicely to be able to go out to the lake and on camping trips with the fam and still do some mild off roading. Like i said, I wont go as crazy as i did on the FJ but some light mods are in order.

It might be discretion of the dealership. I am unsure of warranty period on new parts but there has to be something. I wondered the same if my diff bearing goes out again. Never hurts to just call and ask what the warranty is on replaced parts....ask before you tell them your scenario. What is your mileage?

Warranties on replaced parts is 12 months unlimited miles. That applies even if you walk in now out of warranty, buy a part and it fails 11 months later. Still covered under their parts warranty.

Yea I ended up calling them and they said no. Didn't realize it was 5 years ago, plus I have 95k now. He said TSBs are only done within 36k which is BS bc I pulled up the TSB pdf and it says up to 60k. But even still, I'm way passed that.

I ended up getting the part numbers from him and 'll just do it myself

Don't you have your seat at the lowest it can go with the nose turned up? Why would you paint the seat post?

TSBs are 36k.... I can vouch for that. Bummer though.

On a strange side note I ended up giving these girls from my hotel ( cute daughter and her mom) a ride back from 7-11 because her mom was light headed. We got back to the hotel and her mom passed out and went into a seizure.... yikes! I guess it was a common thing for her but it had been months.... called the paramedics and everything. 1/2 hour later she's fine....
