I run Silverstars ultras on my truck and they suck lol. I paid 47 at autozone and I don't see a difference. Not really bright.I was kind of surprised . I might get the new Silverstars ntz or whatever there called lol or another hid kit.

I tried PIAAs, the housings just plain suck! The light pattern for the Katana is horrible at night, even with the $50 bulbs. The pattern I get with the HID's is actually a lot better because of how the bulbs light up. with the HID's I actually ended up with a nice wide beam pattern, the light projects out far enough to actually see where I'm going, I have yet to be high beamed and they seem to have a decent cut off when I park facing a wall (I'm not gonna lie, there's glare but it's not as bad as I thought it would be).

I have the minis easy to install , great light output, Easy to aim, very happy with them .

I had 6k hids on my 600rr they were much better then stock but I hated the blue . I have 5k in my truck headlights and fogs and I'm happy with those . I also have a set of 4300k in my garage . If anybody is interested . And a set of yellow hid fogs .
To rich for me . Glws

Sounds like it has to do with the light pattern on the bike.

Absolutely. That's why I want to make the OEM housing obsolete by throwing a projector in there :D

Haha. There damm exspensive I tell ya. I know some people that put 20 grand on one. I think that's too damm much for a couple hours of fun Lol.I know women want a huge wedding and all this stuff but I don't seem to pay that much. My sister is getting married and she is having like 5 people. Just our family on the beach and that's all. Spending like no money and keeping it real simple. That's the way to go

20 grand is like nothing now. My fiances cousin had a wedding that was up around 100k. It was in Newport on the water and was a whole weekend event.

Weddings get expensive realllll quick. We budgeted for ours, but it seemed like everything we did was more than we initially expected.

Damm lol. 100k:eek:. Thats just unreal to me. I could never spend that much on a wedding. No matter how much I liked the girl lol. I like my sisters idea. Keeping it real simple, only about 5 to 10 people and thats it. No after party or anything. Party at home for free lol.

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
It was a very long work day. Now I go see my oldest in Melrose. I wont go to bed until around 11:30 - 12. :( NEED SLEEP!!!

John don't you have a set of aftermarket headlights? Why don't people do the retros in the aftermarkets? I know the cheap ebay ones have horrible light patterns anyway, it seems like that would be all they are good for. That and having them already BHLM.

A lot of people do use the Ebay housings for the retrofit but the OEMs are higher quality (or so I'm told). Apparently some of the Ebay headlight lenses scratch easier and/or yellow out over time in some cases. Personally, I wouldn't hesitate to retrofit an Ebay set, the only real issue is the lack of sealant and water seeping in but you'd be resealing them anyways for a retrofit.

Selling oem retro is easier and more money then eBay junk .
