    I figure mine aint perfect, they never are but I can live with it. First time I drag a fender over a rock I'll never even notice any mismatch anymore

    Does anyone really understand why fiberglass is so difficult and inconsistent?

    It seems like if they are being made by hand from a master mold that they should be just as perfect as sheet metal if the mold was good. I can't believe (or don't want to) that places like GW and Fiberwerx would make a mold that was off so bad it requires hours of prep work every time.

    Maybe these guys are just slapping them together instead of taking their time laying the glass? Maybe they don't have a good method for popping them out without tweaking the shape? Or is this just to ensure there is 'too much' glass instead of 'not enough'?

    I don't know, I'm not a fiberglass production expert, but it seems like there is room for improvement :notsure:

    My guess would be the labor involved to get it exactly right is not worth the companies time and most people would be mounting the glass on a tubed cage of some sort, so at that point it doesnt really matter :p

    If only they would get those polyurethane fenders finished for the 2nd gens...then all we have to worry about is paint coming off :cool:

    Im not sure why everyone has so much trouble with their fiberglass, i did mine and they turned out really good, definitely not a one day job though, and they are just gonna get pitted and scratched in the desert anyways:D:p

    I hear ya, I spent a lot of time on mine and they arent perfect but all that effort is going down the tubes first time I get it out of the shopping mall anyway so wtf, run what you brung

    I think the problem is time in the mold. If they are pulled out to soon than you get a piece that is off.

    But to the companies making them, they want them out of the mold ASAP to turn them around and start another.

    What purpose would that bump seriously do. Guarantee there are a lot of accidents with people trying to hit it fast. lol funny to say the least

    The cost of staying at Mikes is around 60.00 per person. It includes bed and two meals. Fuel, other meals and whatever else is not included.

    I was thinking about leaving early evening on Friday July 20 and coming home on Sat July 21.

    Just a thought.
