I had my squeek fixed by Toyota under warranty last september only to have it start again last month. They said they have a new fix for the problem and are ordering the parts. When they come in I should have more info to post on the topic. I think the fix had something to do with a new bracket as well as a new motor.

Exactly. The chirp comes from the brushes being out of alignment a bit. When you reassemble the motor, they align again, just tighten down the motor cover good and snug. While your in there, might as well grease the bearing points.I did mine months ago and all is quiet still. Takes less time than the trip to the dealership alone.

Just had a 20,000 mile service completed and they replaced the blower...again! However, this time they had extras in stock. What's that telling us?

Back in my childhood days we used to clean the commutator strips (the copper strips the brushes ride on) with an eraser to remove some of the build-up in an attempt to gain a few more RPM out of our RC cars.
I removed my blower today, cleaned everything that rotates, cleaned the commutator strips and packed the lower bushing with synthetic grease. Guess time will tell...

Looking for another Taco. Can't stay away.
Had mine in for the 10k service today, they replaced the blower motor to fix the squeak. Apparently the first replacement they pulled out of the parts dept was bad. They didn't say what exactly, but they had to get a 2nd one.

Just had my 2nd blower motor put in (still under warranty) while I had the truck in for LOF. They used the -043 motor per the TSB. Hope this one lasts longer than the previous -042 model. That one lasted about 8 months before it started sporadically chirping again last December, and since then it had gotten progressively worse, especially the last couple of months when it started sporadically chirping even on the 2nd speed setting . I'll keep having them put new ones in as long as it's free. After that, I'll try some of the fixes if it comes down to that.

Has anyone had the new -043 fail yet, or does this model appear to be the real deal and actually work?

It's the real deal... mine is a year old now with no noise. Pretty happy about it.

The original with the old design last 2 months from when I bought the truck new and started chirping.

I must have a blower motor that was NOT made on a Friday, and was assembled by the plant's employee of the year! Still squeak-free on my original '06 blower motor!

My fan has been chirping for a long time, probably since I got it. I've just been living with it. My 94 Toy Pickup did it too so I guess I had partially just got used to it.

But starting about a year and a half ago, I got into the truck on a cold winter afternoon on the way home from work, and had no heat. Fan speed selector switch did nothing. That was a cold ride home, dressed for office casual with just a thick jacket. When I got home, after trying a few other things, I bumped the fan with something. Up started the fan.

This started happening more and more often in cold weather this past winter. But starting about a month ago it's began to do it almost everytime I got in the truck in this hot 100 deg weather. I'd had enough.

I was resigned to buying a new one on Amazon for $59.97 + Ship, but had to go into the dealer for an oil change. After showing them the price I could get it for online they came done from their price of $169, to $109. To me that was cheap enough to get a locally warrentied part. I'll put it in tonight...

    Fingers crossed.

OEM running boards and roof rack. Yellow fog bulbs and WeatherTech mats and window visors.
What weird is I've only noticed it chirps with the heat on. Dosent seem to be an issue with A/C.

Update - 6 weeks later and not a sound out of it. I know it's not long-term yet, but maybe cleaning the comm. strips is the solution?

that's the one installed in my 2010 today. I did not see the part myself, but that is the number on the repair order.

    no squeak so far.

and mine made the noise in both heat & A/C mode, when the fan was on low speed.

mine started in winter while in heat mode on low fan speed...this summer, it did the same in A/C mode on low fan speed.

I lived with it for over a year and just got inspired to go to the dealership this morning (actually a good excuse to play hookie from work, we are building a new home and I needed a Monday break)

I just had my replacement blower replaced for the latest version. Second version lasted a winter. I leave the blower on the first setting and low/windshield all winter.

It started to chirp so I would switch the speeds to get rid of the noise. Then it started squeaking in the second setting.

I took it to the dealership this Sunday expecting them to troubleshoot it and request I come back to swap the part out. They swapped it out in an hour and a half.

I hope this one does the trick. I have to say I'm very happy with my dealerships service department.

How long did it take you to fix this? and just to make sure this is the ventilation system correct?

Mine was replaced last week. Since I'm at 31k and 6 months left on the clock, maybe I should get the extended warranty?
