    Here's where I put my switch...clean and discreet.

    I use my camera when off-road. Useful to keep an eye on who's behind you and check clearance for obstacles. Useful when towing, or to see a hot chick stopped behind you at light or someone riding your ass.

    :notsure: That is a completely new variable and is way different from the rear-view camera mod. You will probably be waiting a while until someone traces down the wiring schematics and isolates which wires control the camera.

    Sorry I have no useful info to give you.

    Entune is that fandangled new deck they put in the 2012 as an option. I'm assuming the camera now routes to that screen, instead of a small screen in the rear view mirror.

    All I can say is "it might work?" Who knows tho... Either be brave and try it, or post up in the tech section and hope someone who has a 2012 w/entune has tried it.

    Downside to putting the switch there is if you put the rearview mirror extender in, this piece of plastic goes away and you need to find a new switch location. I'm dealing with that now as I don't feel like re-wiring it to the dash location.

    I don't need the extender.

    It seems like you would lose a few inches of visibility with extender as well, plus with my skewp I need all the visibility that I can get :p

    *Nevermind, I just realized the "Extender" is meant to raise the mirror up. The name is a little misleading

    Great write up and input from all. :thumbsup: I just did my '12 taco, no entune, used factory scion switch from eBay 19 bucks. It took me while, 45 min first time under the dash so I was checking stuff out. I also am thinking about a camera mount for the front, great for checking out clearance and just an overall better field of view. The drawback to the mirror switch mount is that people see you reaching for the mirror although it is clean and simple.:D stoked

    I did this mod today too, except I used a SPST switch, which DOES NOT work. It makes your reverse lights, backup camera AND check engine light all come on at the same time....

    Just finished this mod, went very smooth and I'm very pleased with it. Looking forward to putting it to good use. I ended up using a DPDT switch from radioshack since they didn't have any SPDT rocker switches. Thanks for all the pictures and the great writeup!

    Hi all, thanks OP for the great write up and for everyone else's contributions. Should make this an easy mod once I find the right switch.
    I have followed every link on this post and searched the interwebs quite a bit but can't find exactly what I am looking for. Has anyone come across an illuminated mini rocker that is SPDT?
    I'd like to mount it in the same location as Crom so needs to be small, but I would love to have some illumination to remind me that I have the switch set to camera always on. Figure I may be out of luck though since we really need an on-on switch, it would probably be lit all the time instead of just when i have switched to always on.
    Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate the help.
