I'm looking to get a shell for my 2004 double cab taco and would like people's pics and opinions of theirs. Also I plan to buy some roof racks to hold a kayak or canoe, any suggestions on what brand to look for on racks? I have an A.R.E. fiberglass bed cover that I'd like to get rid of for the shell if anyone is interested. Thanks

I bought my top about 3 months or so ago; I definitely like it. Dry storage space and my toolbox is secure too.

thanks, it serves me very well. Whether you go with Thule or Yakima etc, I'd suggest you get the track system for sure; the versatility is unbeatable. They typically aren't too cheap so keep your eyes peeled on Craigslist/ebay. I pieced mine together with some new and some used parts

I just checked Thule's website and didn't find any yota specific applications.. What all did you use for yours? Just tracks?

I'm a big fan of my SnugTop XTR. Love the clean lines that flow really well with the truck. Mine has a headliner, folding/sliding window behind the cab, dome light as options. I added the Thule bars for my shovel and hilift. And painted the tubes black.

I swap between the topper and my bedrack somewhat frequently.

x2 on the SnugTop. Love mine...I've had an A.R.E. and a Leonard before..I'd say I like the SnugTop the most for the clean lines and overall fit. I put Yakima racks and the fairing on.

You hardly ever see mine out there-the Snugtop XTR. Nice shell, great paint and still great seal since 2005 when I bought it for $1700. You may find some used ones out there for cheap now

yea standard 60" Thule Tracks (that I cut down to 50" iirc), TK1 feet, and 50" load bars. Bought the tracks new and the other stuff used. The tracks are thru-bolted to the cap

Yep, don't see them too often. I haven't seen another one in person that has the Snugtop XTR. I think they're a great looking top. They are the top of the line top from Snugtop and can be expensive when new. When I found mine for sale locally I didn't know much about them and a search showed pricing from ~$1200 for the cheaper used ones up to almost $2300 for a new one. Made me even more excited for the deal I got on mine. It was even the right color paint and I got it for $230. It's been great for me.

Thanks for that-you sure did get a hell of a deal-and a rare one for a top in such great shape as yours. BTW you have done a fantastic job on that truck.
