Helis do intimidate me, that's for sure.

But that's what is so fun about them. There is almost no end to the progression.

Iv seen how much heli's can cost once you get into them, with the way I jump into things I am staying far away from any r/c that goes in the air .

Don't ever pick up an RC aircraft then. I love my couple of surface models, but the air is where it's at. Anyone can pick up a car/truck/boat and drive it to some extent, the same can't be said about adding a third dimension to the mix.

So, as a kid i was into the RC stuff. Mostly electric cars. Then I build a Dumas Big Swamp buggy but the motor ( think it was a .65 OS Max) was so hot that the thing kept doing the flip like the hydrofoil racers when it got up to speed .
I still have the shell, and re glassed it a few years ago. Thinking about trying to put a weed eater engine on it for ease of fuel/oil and a bit less noise on my little lake. Any thoughts from anyone with more experience than me? I would need to mount the weedeater to the tower, find a prop that would work, and rig up a servo for teh throttle. Google search has not brought up much. Anyone got a link, ideas or is thios just so elementary that I should just jump into it. I hate to eff up the Swamp Buggy as I took my time and did a nice job building it as a kid...

    Thanks

Any of you Axial guys know whether I'd be able to power one of the Axial LED strings off of the CH3 port on my receiver?

My knowledge on R/C radios extends to the trims, throttle and steering...so this could very well be a stupid question.

There is nothing plugged into it right now so I was going to at least try it. I didn't want to fry anything though.

    Thanks for the reply!

It did - I want to add two more white LEDs to the back to put in the two smaller light buckets I mounted on the bed.

I'll need to figure out how to lengthen the wire that connects the two LEDs, though.

I would get a y adapter and at it to your led string. If you add anymore lights, I would get a castle BEC to help with the power.
especial since you are running the 2.2's on that stock servo. You have the stock servo, right?
    That's just my personal preference.

I guess I should have said how I am going to run the wire without it interfering with the suspension but still allow me remove the body without too much hassle.

Stock servo for now. I will likely upgrade to the waterproof Hitec along with the BR-XL next paycheck, though. :D
