    in my opinion its not if you are going to mod the truck anyway.the only real advantage offroading is the trd offroad has is atrac and a rear locker. the is package is around $4k and you can get air lockers for that

    First off, the question is how much will you save without the trd package. It's nothing but mostly trim. You'll get a locker if your off road, but the money you save you can add on better parts than what you'll get in the package. If i could go back i'd of gotten the sr5 4x4 instead of the trd off road 2wd. I miss 4x4.

    If you are going to do a bro mobile get the SR5 no need to pay extra for stuff you'll just take off. You can get and sr5 with a scoop if your worried, and also color matched grill. It's all in the trim package.

    I hear people hate atrac, just lock the front and rear with an air locker and you'll be good. Regear if you plan on running larger tires, and just mod your truck.

    But in case you like the SR5...here's mine when it was "kinda" bro'd out. Flat hood = chevy 1500...kinda. If you squint...

    EDIT: Pretty sure you don't need lockers for speed bumps at the mall ^^^
