What tires are you running with 5100s?

    im planning on getting the 5100s with larger tires. i was wondering what size tire to run, i was thinking of 265/75/16. i want to get larger tires without major trimming, or a big diff.s in reading on speedometer. if you could post your setup and what if any problems thanks.

    265/70/17 BFG RT's, FJ 17" rims with 1.25" spidertraxx Debadged, HID's, URD short shifter, Bilstein 5100's in the front, TSB and 1" block rear, URD TCAI with maf calibrator, JBL long tubes, DT Y pipe, Gibson exhaust, Walbro 255 fuel pump, Pioneer stereo, Bak flip G2 tonneau, TRD skid plate, MB Quarts all around with dynomat, Viper Alarm with motion sensor
    I'm running 5100's set at the highest with 265/75/16's. No issues, runs and offroads great. I know you can go to 285/70/16's but you will have to take off your front mudflaps and trim slightly.

    Yeah the 265's are the biggest you can go without trimming. Thats what i got and now i want the 285's. I kick myself for not getting the 285's:mad:.

    I admit, the 285's look better but for off roading, but if you allready have to trim, wouldn't hit whatever you had to trim when the shock becomes fully compressed? I know that's the reason for trimming but the wheel can be in may different positions when the shock becomes compressed. That's just my 2 cents. Someone tell me if I am wrong because I am learning as well.

    You are right. I cut back my cab mount and welded in a plate and still need to shave more of the rear of the fender liner and fender flare with my 285s. You can't tell anything has been done because it is super clean. You have to know it has been done to notice. Thank heavens for Dremel tools you can do things with precision.
