depending on the department though, this kind of situation could catch more eyes than others...especially if they are a knee-jerk type of dept...

and depending on state laws concerning who can be a victim of cdv (ie is a child eligible or does it have to be a spouse etc) some depts take cdv VERY seriously

If you have your own place, invite her to live with you. Like the others said, she is a adult and can make her own choices. My dad ever did that to me, I'd be packed up and out of the house in less than 24 hours, even if I had no place to go, abuse is never okay.

Hmm, Dunkin Donuts. I want one. This is the first place I've lived without a Dunkin Donuts franchise nearby. One closed several years ago (poor location or couldn't keep up with demand from local cops - lol), with two or three others supposedly coming soon.

Just my 2 cents, u can take it or leave it...Don't get in the middle of family matters from someone who has been there and done that...if she is so miserable she can move out on her own.
I had the same problem many years ago, except her father was a raging alcoholic and physically beat up his wife all the time. He was abusive to both his daughters also, to make a long story short, One day I jumped in the middle, got in a fight with the guy in their house; the police were called and then (I) was arrested. The mother stuck up for her husband, my girlfriend (at the time) and her sister said nothing...So I ended up in jail, and they basically blamed me for the whole incident.

Thanks guys. I got more from the story. Well when the dad went to work, she came home and talked with mom and sis. I guess the dad is saying that he never did anything and saying he didnt yell and all this stuff when the mom said right to his face yes you did say it and you hurt her. He is dening everything he did even though he did say all these things. I really just wanna go over there and like fight him. ( I'm not going to do it but would be nice). He always denies everything he does and then says he loves her and stuff and then a day later goes and says more shit. I feel wicked bad but I cant do anything more. Im just gonna sit back and see what happens. Im going to pick her up after I work and she is staying at my house for the weekend. I hope this calms her down. I hate drama and all this stuff, I really do but I love her and I dont wanna leave her so Im gonna stick by her side and help anyway I can

    I've read this entire thread.

You have no idea what is going on over there. You only know what you have seen first hand. If you believe everything that she tells you, then you're just to gullible. 3 adult women living under this guys roof, and none of them wanting to leave. I may be wrong, but I believe you're being fed some BS.

She's looking for someone who will take her side no matter what.

    You're that someone.

take care. trying to have a serious relationship with someone that has this situation going on will make you pull your hair out. most likely she'll have trust issues and compare you to her father for the rest of your relationship .if the story is some how is not true like the previous poster suggest then you'll have trust issues. try to step back and look at the big picture without emotion. and you'll see your clear answer to your question. ya'll been dating for one year. you could be possibly more infatuated then in true love. (i was that at your age) it does make a difference when you live on your and out of the nest. your prospectives on thing will change so will the type of person you want to be in a relationship with. dont move in together. dont take this wrong but yall both need to grow up (out side of your parents house separately ). plus words are words. their only important if you let them be. need to concentrate on being able to take care of yourself before thinking of supporting some else. hope it works out for you. my 2. via con dios

Sounds like a whole lotta drama and you guys aren't even married... Remember, her family will always be an issue - do you really want to deal with this crap long term?
