Auto down power window switch - Searched NO LUCK

Is there any way to replace the window switch on the driver's controls for the passenger side window? I am looking to get the "Auto-down feature" switch and replacing it. I've seen a post about this is the past, somebody has done it I remember, I've searched, and cannot find it.

 

Unholycumulous and I are both working on different ways. The 2005-2008 scion tC is a two windows, auto up and down, for both sides so I think those switches will work.

I'm going to take my scion apart this weekend and try the switches out in the Taco. Standby for info!!

 

DEI makes auto window modules that are made to work with their alarms but you dont need one of them in order for them to work. U may check into those.

 

I am waiting for one to come in sometime this week and will be posting a write up about it.

It may sound weird, but I am not fond of the auto down. When i just want to crack the windows at the same exact height I can never get them equal cause the auto feature. I know it kind of sounds ocd.

The switches can be a pain...but with the right touch they aren't so bad.

 

theres two to choose from DEI 529T and 530T one does alittle more than the other but install the same ive put many of these in they work like a champ.

 

Are you sure there's no difference in the window motors or the wiring harness for an auto up and down option? Don't know this for a fact, just a thought.

 

Pretty sure there isn't...Cause if they did that they would have to have a non-auto motor, an auto down motor, and a both motor. Same with the wiring harness. if they wire it all same with the same motor and only have to put different circuits in them...it's less overhead.

Not saying that I know...but I've got a sneaky suspicion...Like how there are blank switch and relay spots on trucks without certain options, but the wiring is all run. Same kinda thing.

There is no difference in the harness the difference is in the button itself. I looked into doing this awhile back, but wasn't motivated to actually do it. I researched all the lexus cars and all of them use a different style switch that wouldn't be a direct replacement for our trucks.

My mom's 07 avalon has auto up and auto down on both the drivers and passenger side door. The master switch uses the same plug and same style master switch, so it would be a direct swap. Only thing I noticed was the avalon has a few more wires then my truck does in the harness. I would of plugged it in, but didn't want to take a chance not knowing what the additional wires were for.

Now the harness plug is different for the dub cabs, so the avalon switch wouldn't work on an access or reg cab tacoma.

 

its programmed into the switch. you HAVE to have something inline between the switch and the window motor such as the DEI 530 if you wanna keep it like it is without replacing the entire switch assembly. Probably will be on the 2010's. I hate when the model year after yours has something really nice but not worth a whole new truck for.

 

Yup, check my sig. Wrote up a failed mod about it. I'm still lookin for the switch, and as lifesaflaw stated, he's lookin to do the alarm part mod.

 

not to be off topic but can we use the auto button which is only switch that is lighted up when you turn on your lights to be installed in passenger and back seat switches if you have a double cab....I dont know why toyota provides only one lighted switch?....thanks

I think youre asking if theres a way to light the other switches. There is. You could wire in more LEDs. and you'd have to take the switch face off and scratch off the inside of the switch part you press so it would shine through. You could link the LEDs to the original LED that lights up the AUTO word. Itd be a lot of work, but if it bothers you; worth it
