I have a 2005 Tacoma and it has a spray on rock cover type thing on the bottom that is textured. It is clear but on the left side of the car it is turning yellow. On the right side its totally clear and perfect. I'm thinking the sun if fading it but I would think that would happen on both sides. It's also fading only the back down on the drivers side. Anyways is there anything that could possibly remove the yellowing part? I heard someone on another tread say plexus but I'm not sure. The pics might help a little bit but any input would be great. The first pic is of the whole side and the second pic is closer up showing the difference between the paint and what is turning yellow.

i say sun. maybe not so. depends on how you park most the time. my friend has an FJ and a “kicker” sticker on both sides the one on driver side faded kinda fast was yellow faded to white. the one on pass side still looks new.

ya its sprayed on so its not actually possible to peel it off. i would have to like sand it off and i really don't want to do that.

I just looked at mine and its on both doors and the front portion of the bed which also looks like an additional clear sticker on the bed too.

Yeah I have some texture, Tough "orange peel" on my 09 just below the tacoma badge line. I'm not sure if you have some kinda extra spray, but I believe they all have this tough texture sprayed on the lower portion.
I would try some "compound" cleaner or cleaner wax and polish. See if you can buff it back to new.

nice dose not. i do have what looks like thicker paint or something. but it is not textured at all. brb. i’ll go see if i can get pic of mine. but truck is dirty.

edit: here is a pic of my truck. as you can tell it’s from my finger down. it looks “thicker” or something. it’s for stone chips. and it smooth like the rest of the trucks paint.[IMG]

auto zone, pep boys, maybe even wal mart will carry a small bottle rubbing compound made by 3m. put a little dab on an old tshirt or towel and rubb on it with some force. make sure its clean before you do or else you will be "sanding" it. you wouldnt wax your truck without washing first, so kinda the same principle. if that doesnt work, might need to be taken off and resprayed.

All of em have that orange peel shit. It's under the factory clear coat. Take it to the dealer if you have warranty. I don't think it'll buff out, but you can try, a body shop might know more. Otherwise suck it up and deal with it. Or have it repainted. Or line-x over the top of it.
