Coil spacer leveling kit vs 5100s

I just got the Daystar leveling kit on my 02 Double Cab PreRunner yesterday. I love it, $545 installed. I'm running Mickey T Baja ATZ's 285/75/16 no problems. I wish I had done it 7 years ago.

 

5100's or a spacer lift- don't they achieve the lift the same way by compressing the springs?

 

one thing that no one has mentioned about spacers is that they DO prematurely wear/sag your springs due to them being constantly more compressed.

 

I went with the 5100s and had them set at 2.5". The ride was fine for me. It was a little stiffer but still seemed smooth. The nice thing about the 5100s is if you decide later to do a coil-over, you can still use the 5100s so you won't have to spend money again to get suitable shocks (toytec sells an adjustable coilover kit for those that already have the 5100s. OME coils are another popular option). Plus, you can always sell the stock shocks to offset the cost. I sold my stock TRD shocks for $60 making the the final cost of the four 5100s $200.

A spacer can't be reused with coilovers and I don't know what you'd get if you tried to sell used spacers.

 

$545 for a leveling kit??? Please tell me tires were included...

 

How does the bilsteil shocks affect the ability to align the front end and is it easy to get out of alignment with the install.
