    Not really sure...

Always busting my balls Wyatt!! :D

I drove it on the road for 4 months... And all I need is to balance my tires and driveshafts and it will be good to go.

When I drove mine on the road I only got 13 MPG highway and 9 in the city... But I have an underpowered 2.7l with only 5.38s. I should be running 6.13's

Mostly you can expect 15 hwy... maybe 17 on some days. depends on your driving style and the wind that day

If you do a d44 you need to get the jeep axle so it matches the taco width. Unless you want full width... But then you need a rear axle to match.

Also you said d60 which is by far almost impossible to break on our little trucks (unless your outrageously STUPID with it) D60 has my vote from the day I decided not to do it

Or you could keep it toyota and just put a mini axle under it like alove did on his 1st gen.

I probably get around 12-16mpg with mine, im running rock assualt axle housing (ifs width), chromoly shafts, 5.29 gears, a spool in the rear and a detroit up front with 36" tires and a jasper 22re. its not the best on the road but if im wheeling close by or just feel like driving it ill take it down the road.

Great saying to live by! You can spend the $ on something you love or save it your whole, boring life and leave it to the widow so her and her new fling can spend it all :D

Oh wise ones of TW . I'm planning on doing a SAS on my truck. I've sourced a waggy d44 with 4.88s and high steer setup :deadhorse:. It has welded spider gears and I plan to DD the truck after the swap with 35s. I'd like to change to a selectable locker but not sure which one. ARB would be ideal cause I plan to put one in the rear. Just looking for input on a front locker.

Hell even I am feeling like I am in over my head trying to SAS this damn 88. Love the truck. Hate the financial obligations.

Do you have the correct waggy, not the one with the vaccuum tube right?

Anyway, front locker obviously ARB, ESPECIALLY if you have one in the rear its a no brainer.

Yeah, people just don't understand that it's more than $2-3k to swap. SHIT ADDS UP lol.

If you wheel enough it will be worth it 10 fold.

As of right now I am figuring an 8-10k budget for this whole process to be done one shot one kill with no loose ends. I'm gonna rebuild both axles off the truck and plan on having a pro do all the hard work since I have NO fabrication skills. I don't want some hack job SAS so paying for the labor is fine with me. In your opinion Eric, should I be considering a 12-15K budget to knock this out?

I guess it depends on labor... What else are you doing to the truck? The older toyotas don't require nearly as much work to SAS, nor do they cost as much.

You have a mini axle, and are going to build it with trail gear's kit?

Based off your recommendation yes I'm going with the TG kit for front and rear. Some other things are like 4XI's tube doors w/ the mirror kit, getting stock fenders, precision gear r&p's, building up the transfer, and sealing up some leaks. Could you ball park labor costs for the set up possibly?

Yeah I made sure of that. My old jeep used to have a vacuum disconnect and it sucked unless I got the eliminator kit.

Well... Lets see, you have 2k in TG's shit. + 1-1.5k In the other stuff you mentioned. I assume probably another 2k in the front axle. So 5-6k maybe. I would say labor.. REALLY depending where you go and who you go with... 2-4k..?

That's a fair assessment. Thanks man. I am a firm believer in "you get what you pay for" which is why on the cutting/welding side of this I am going to be particular. I can build the axles myself so that is the saving grace. Thank you for all the help and advice man. I'll have more questions as I go along with this without fail.

Had a shop close to me quote $9500 with me only supplying the truck and axles. Came out to around 4-5k in labor so I decided to do it myself. I'm in for about $10500 and havent even turned a wrench yet but that is with a set of dynatrac d60's. Oh yeah and I'm going with a linked front. Got most of my parts in a couple of days ago still waiting on my coils and rear leafs... maybe fastenall will have my bumpers and sliders this week. Now I'm just rambling. Hopefully I'll actually get started on it in the next couple of weeks.

Yeah me too. I'm getting tired of waiting for stuff to come in. Only real question left is how will the toyota master cylinder do with the wilwood discs. Guess I'll find out when I get it all put together.

Anyone have an opinion on TG's trail creeper's? Should I just be sticking with Precision Gear?
