Nope. I used the differential drop kit that I bought with my lift to drop my front diff and relieve the vibration. Kinda what the thread is about.

When I drove to work today, it seemed like I could still hear a bit of the growl, but it was slight enough I could be imagining it. I didnt feel any of the vibes at all, unless it was takeoff shudder, but if so it is the same as the growl. So I am a happy camper.

I have done this bushing swap a couple of months ago. At the time I replaced the cv axel as well due to it being scored. I replaced with a GSP axel from advanced auto. Now I have been having problems with the seal I replaced it twice. And I have had the dealer replace it twice. It only last for acouple weeks. The dealer suggest next time replace the axel with the factory one. This is like 450. Any thoughts?

Get a CVJ axle. They are rebuilt OEM axles with high quality components.

    http://www.cvjreman.com/

Bout the same price as buying at the parts store. Hope this helps and you may want to replace the seal one last time when you do this.

Get the axle replaced under warranty. Explain that it's eating the seals. As far as OEM, my dealership recommends NOT getting OEM due to cost alone.

It's funny that you have posted this, because I have been having the same issue. I replaced the bushing, seal and axle with a CVJ reman on the drivers side. No leaks on the drivers side. I figured I should do the same on the passenger side - replaced the seal and axle with a CVJ reman, even though there wasn't an issue. Put it all together and it leaked. Pulled everything apart and replaced the seal, and made sure the axle was seated properly. It still is leaking. I called CVJ and they sent me a new axle. I haven't changed it yet, but noticed the outer boot on the reman axle is already torn and leaking grease on the one currently installed on the truck. Plan on pulling the axle, and replacing the seal for a third time. All the seals I have used are OEM. Going to measure the seals and axles with a dial caliper to see if there are any differences.

Anybody notice that, if you turn your steering wheel to the right when driving the noise stops? I noticed this on a long righthand turn on the hwy that i drive on.So im tjinking when the driver side is loaded when turning right it tightens up that side and stops the noise.

Good observation. When you turn right, the trucks sinks down on the driver's side front which decreases the angle of the cv axle on the bearing. Thus, less vibe. I noticed this 2 years ago too when my vibe was at its worst.

Replacing my needle bearing with the bushing next week. I'll let everyone know how it goes. Now im worried about this axle seal issue people are experiencing after switching to the bushing.

I installed the ECGS bushing and a new seal, along with a remanufactured cv axle from advance auto. Been installed for ~2 weeks. No leaks or issues so far, noise and vibration completely gone.

So it will be safe to assume that it is a axle/diff bearing.

No need to assume. If the vibe is most noticeable around 35-40 mph and it goes away in 4wd, there's no question.

Just to be safe I would make sure that you do not have a wheel bearing issue as well. There is a couple of ways to check. Simple.

    just a couple comfort items.
Just did my bearing to bushing swap a couple days ago Took about 1.5 hours and were smooth as silk now. I drove for 40k on the growling bearing and the bearing surface of the output shaft looked fine, I reused it. I must have been immune to the vibs and noise because I cant believe how nice and smooth it is now, Like a new truck! Big thanks to ECGS. :bananadance:
