I'm fairly certain if the truck is equipped with Bluetooth it will stream music. Based on my research in looking for my truck, but I'm sure someone who is more knowledgeable will chime in.

Edit: should have said this was only on 2012's.

Both the phone and BT must be A2DP compatible. Most (if not all) smart phones are capable, but very few Bluetooth have it. Look for A2DP and that will answer your question.

If your talking about a BT for your ear, your going to have to get a top of the line model. If your looking for one to install in your truck look for the brand Parrot. They have many multimedia capable models.

Not correct. Only those with A2DP protocols stream media. Refer to my previous post. I know because I worked in the wireless industry for several years recently.

I can stream Bluetooth audio from my iPhone on my 2010 4Runner. Don't know about the entune equipped Tacomas though.

according to toyota.com the jbl and entune models do support bluetooth music streaming. This should allow you to stream music from your phone, however you MAY have to control the music from your phone.

Iphone will stream your mp3 collection and any internet radio on the head unit itself; you can actually skip, pause, and rewind using the head unit when listening to stations such as Pandora

the JBL systems with BT will stream music. On my 06 I had the non-jbl system, and bought a motorola BT module.. i cant remember the name, just check their website. I could use it for calls and music. it streamed it through the radio via fm transmitter. clear, alot more high tech than your conventional fm transmitter.

So are you saying that the JBL's with hands free BT will stream music? I've read on here that it's only the 2012's and up that can do that, and I found no mention of it in my owners manual. If there's a way to do that with my '11 I would be pretty happy.

I'm pretty sure there is.. you have me second guessing myself now. Lol. Someone will chime In I'm sure. Maybe Im confusing the module in my 06 and the BT from my 09. Lol in fact.. I think that is it. I didnt use the BT in my 09 much. I swapped the stereo out a while ago so I cant remember. I used the aux input for the ipod. so yeah.. I don't think so.. sorry for the misinformation. :(

My 2012 with non-JBL radio streams from my HTC Thunderbolt just fine.

Bottom line, if it's a 2012 Taco, and your phone is relatively new, it *should* work.

I don't think the base models stream music or have phone connectivity. I considered buying a base 4X4 and it wasn't equipped with Bluetooth even though the face of the stereo appeared to be the same.

Good catch... I should have said, "If it's a 2012 Taco w/ BT feature included ... it *should* work".

I have a 2012 with Entune and an HTC. Streaming music works fine. I use it all the time.
