Well after long discussion with myself, I decided to get away from the iPhone for awhile and went with the galaxy II.

    So we will see.

Way different considering I have been with the IPhone since it came out.

Typical iPhone. You have to run over an android to get that kind of damage.

The S II right? That's a decent phone man....solid little brother to my Nexus... make sure you get a hold of Google Wallet.

Personally, I would stay away from any Samsung product. Been there, done that. And my wife who never, ever wanted an iPhone just got the 4s (which is what I have). Her Droid lasted 14 months before crapping out for good. It had so many things fail, it was ridiculous. After reading reviews online of problems, it seemed that 75 percent of Droid reviews were about problems people had with the phones. The iPhone reviews were closer to only 10-20 percent. And those stats seem consistent with our friends that have had both. BTW, I used to hate Apple products. I'd still never buy a Mac, but they have good quality control on their "i" products.

Samsung only made one Droid afaik. Droids were primarily Motorola.... I had the original Droid and that phone was a tank. It got slammed in the door or my truck twice...the frame was bent but the phone still worked fine. No cracked screens...never used screen protector...no case. The newer Motorola's are in fact junk. As a true phone junkie...I can say the Galaxys are well built phones. They're not as durable as other phones, but they are very powerful and reliable.

The Galaxy Nexus was not built by/with Verizon. It is Google Proprietary software. Not positive but I think the other galaxys are similar.

Even though RIM is losing in the market, I still have my little 9600 Crackberry for like three or four years now, dropped dozens of times, soaked to where it quit working, the trackball is about 3/4 of it's original size, the paint is wearing off of the corners of the buttons, the damn thing won't die! Which is good because every time a phone comes up for an upgrade on my plan (three lines), my son who keeps getting Samsung phones, needs a new one because his died.

Just to clarify, the Droid X we had was Motorola. The Samsung was a different phone. It's the Motorola that crapped out recently for good (camera quit working half the time, wireless couldn't hold a connection for more than 2 seconds before disconnecting and reconnecting constantly over and over, and the earpiece/speaker phone quit working on calls so it became useless as a phone).

I guess Greg will be our experimenter with the Galaxy.:D

The Galaxy S line of phones are the flagship devices minor differences in the models across the different carriers which include that carriers specific bloatware and company specific apps and data restrictions. The Nexus devices (Nexus 1, Nexus S, and Galaxy Nexus) run a completely stock version of Android with no other bloatware. A GSM and CDMA version of the device is usually offered for the two different types of carriers, and though carriers may subsidize the device and offer it through their tore they are a truly pure Google product. The Galaxy Nexus and the Galaxy SII are built upon very similar hardware platforms. They are very comparable, but the Nexus offers a few extra features and a bloat free OS, giving it a slight advantage. http://geekaphone.com/compare/Samsung-GALAXY-Nexus-vs-Samsung-Galaxy-S-II The Galaxy SIII is available overseas and should be released towards the end of this month on all major carriers. Look towards this new generation of phones to offer the truly amazing performance and added features that will set Android apart from other mobile operating systems. Phones like the HTC One x, Samsung Galaxy SIII, and the yet to be announced LG quad core phone are the phones that I am looking forward to. Each carrier will offer a variant of these flagship devices, to include Verizon's Droid trademark branding. The next Nexus device will most likely be a 7' tablet from Asus later this month, and it is rumored that the next version of android (4.1 Jelly Bean) will release with several different Nexus devices from all of the major manufacturers. I do quite a bit of coding and app design for android and the new generation of devices and the Android OS are extremely exciting.

Not sure why I rambled on so long, but the geek in me just can't help but blather on when it comes to mobile technology.

Another key difference is the Galaxy S' never launched with ICS.... not a big deal for us tweakers. I'm already running an unreleased stock ICS from that runs great. Google did me wrong by removing Facebook sync on ICS. The latter version reinstated it.

Best part is that it has Flash and 4g. That is when ever 4g is launch for att. I feel it is going to be wicked fast since they are going to be using fiber optics lines
