I recently bought a 2012 Tacoma V6 Double Cab Long Bed... made a huge mistake in buying a house a month later with a garage that is 3 inches too short! and worse, there's no option of parking on the driveway as that's about 5ft long (yay for townhouses!!).

I've been search around to try and find a rear bumper, low profile, that would shave about 3" off the length of the truck.. I can remove the hitch as I don't use one often and can re-attach if required..

Anyone any ideas on what I can do? Other than sell my long bed auto and get a short bed manual and lose 6-7k!

    Thank you all :)

drive the rear end of the truck through the wall in the garage into the living room and lower the tailgate. tailgate couch FTW

    plasti dipped wheel caps,
question: you say the garage is 3" too short. i'm guessing that it is from the front wall of your garage to the garage door with it closed?
also, decide if you REALLY NEED the regular bed ("long bed") on the double cab. if so, maybe try looking into some mods......for ur garage/house. haha :) hope that helps, good luck.

Mod the truck and the house to fit your needs.. Get offroad Protection and a bigger garage. Win, win in my book! :)
Oh! And this is kinda why i traded my 07 DC LB in for a 12' AC... Didnt need the back seats and hated the long ass and wheelbase of it...

    Not in a condo/townhouse.
The HOA pretty much owns the "building".
The "owner" only owns everything out to the "Unpainted interior surface of the exterior walls"

Garages are generally considered "exclusive use common area" and no permanent changes can be made.

today on mythbusters, does the longbed tacoma have a larger wheelbase than the shortbed?

if u were seriously considering modifying ur garage, they wouldn't know until you sell, so then just fix it back, cause they're not going to go inspecting your condo

Thanks all :) I was thinking about reversing my truck hard ass into the wall, but as there's an electrical distribution box right there, that and removing dry wall isn't really a first and easy option (there's stairs right behind the wall).. If I could get something like a road armour rear bumper along with some mods to the wall, it might work, but wondering if anyone had changed their rear bumpers and if it made any difference to length...

Never did 3" mean so much to me ;-)
