thanks for the link but my rims are pretty much tubeless and i think all i need is the stem and sealant. im probably gonna wait too since these tires suck and i dont want to do it now then end up doing it again whenever i change the tires.

    This.

The problem is these bikes are really meant for the person who rides the local paved bike trail once and a while. If you rode it on even a 'mild' mtb trail, the bike won't last. If you jumped it, I doubt it would last more than two or three good jumps.

    Ok, here's mine:

Just got the MTB this weekend. Diamondback Sorrento. And before you guys start trashin' it, it's a box-store MTB, but I'm only riding it like a hybrid or road bike. I just like the style more than road type bikes. First bike I've ever owned that had more than one gear on it. Gonna take some getting used too.

Bike in the back is a Free Agent Hellcat 24 jumper. That's what I ride for the "rough" stuff.

I can't see the photo if you've included one and I usually get pissed when people hate on department store bikes, but then I looked it up and I have to agree with them... :anonymous:

Yeah that bike is a piece of junk, dual suspension at that price point is without question an accident waiting to happen. I spend $350 and got a decent bike from Costco. If you're a member there, here is what I bought. I've put about 40 miles on it on MTB trails and it's holding up great.

Yes, most of the components are "entry level" but they are at the "entry level" of legit mountain bike parts, way better than the no name cheap as dirt components on that titan glacier.

    Here's my current ride:

Wifey bought it for me as a wedding present, so I can never let go of it...but I can upgrade :)

I've replaced the rear wheelset (RhynoLyte something-or-other...cheap but tough), rear hub (Shimano Diore), rear cassette & chain (Shimano something-or-other geared a bit taller than stock), pedals (Crank Brothers 'Candy' if memory serves), and tires (Panaracer Fire XC Pro - yellow sidewalls).

There's a ton of stuff up here - from downhill parks (Google 'Sunday River Resort' to see what they have) to mad xc stuff.

I live in the southern part of the state, so I do most of my xc riding at Bradbury Mountain State Park in Pownal. It's about ten minutes from my house, and they have some of the best forested singletrack I've ridden anywhere.

Some shops do bike rentals (check out Gorham Bike & Ski in Portland for xc, or you could rent a downhill ride from Sunday River) so you can still ride if you can't bring your bike.

I just came across a free app for my phone called Strava Cycling. Seems to be pretty cool, it'll record your rides and upload them, find popular trails/rides in your area, stuff like that. Just thought I'd pass it along if anybody's interested....and you're not already using it.

Just be sure to disable it if you happen to ride certain trails.

    Wow that's amazing. Is that a 3.4 or 4.7? My 96 T100 has 260k.
