Does this make sense to you guys?? I was thinking about this all morning.

Regarding string theory being the prevailing idea about how the world works. If all time exists at once and we just view it linear, wouldn't that mean there's no such thing as destiny or fate? Because we DO have have free will today, during our current perception of the present, which would mean we'll have free will during all future decisions when they arrive too.

So in essense, we are masters of all the crossroads in our lives, we've just already made our choices and don't know it yet.

Are you trying to say that time travel shouldn't be that difficult since time isn't linear?

Below is my thoughts in the other thread that BT posted this in.

I like your idea on organized religion. I'm still torn on whether there is a heavenly being or not, but the one good thing that organized religion does, is provide a decent set of core values. I think without it this world would be a really fucked up place.

True, but as one not of faith it's not that hard to adhere to or come to those values on your own.

(Dear mods, I can feel your beady little eyes all over this thread.)

The Fanatics are what have turned me off of organized religion. I went to a Lutheran school through 8th grade and was forced to do sermon summaries every week if i wanted a good grade. It just ruined it for me. Also the whole give me 10% or what ever amount all the time was a kicker to me. They seemed to be money hungry. If they were doing it for the reasons they said, the money wouldn't be an issue.

I prefer the morals of a Samurai, test the sharpness of your sword by the next unsuspecting subject that passes by your intersection, if your sword can slice them from shoulder to opposite hip, then it is worthy, if not, back to the drawing board.

Wouldn't that dull it cutting through all that bone? And then you'd have to sharpen it again and repeat cycle ad nauseum?

As someone who sharpens Straight razors on a frequent basis I can tell you your logic is flawed. A sharper sword will dull more easily due to the thinner edge. :p

Why do you think I'm growing my beard back?

I have some sanding around the house to do. I'm just going to rub my face on it.

Theoretically speaking, time travel isn't difficult at all, its a simple matter of learning how to manipulate quantum particles. Because they are already linked through all points of time and space, you just need to be able to transfer energy (people/data/bitches) through them.

On the religious note, I was raised christian catholic, church every sunday till I was 17. I believe in the values it gave me, but have a disdain for the organization of it.

Still though, if god forbid I ever decide to holy union with a bitch, then I will get my old priest to do it. That dude was hilariously awesome, best priest I've ever met.

^^^ We can already measure them, manipulation of them is the next logical step.

A "ruler" as in a king or leader isn't the type of control I was refering too, I meant more along the lines of a being from another plane of existance, pulling the strings.

    Excellent video on string theory:
