2011 TRD Sport 4x4 with no AUX button?

Just picked up a 2011 4x4 TRD sport with the built in audio aux input jack under the stock radio. Problem is that on the stock radio it is supposed to say "Disc AUX" (according to the manual.) But it just says "Disc".

As a 2011, was it supposed to come standard with a functional aux audio input? What do you guys think?

I've tried plugging in a good AUX cable and it does not automatically switch to the mode. I've also tried pressing the DISC button multiple times with no results.

I'll be taking it to the dealer tomorrow to see whats up and if I can get a warrantied replacement. Unless this is normal for a 2011....

 

Press the "mode" button on the steering wheel till you see "AUX" appear on the head unit....

 

I have the trd off road 4x4 so pretty much the same but heres mine

 

just tried it... pressing mode on the steering wheel just cycles through AM, FM1, FM2

 

looks like you have the 05-08 factory headunit. I think previous owner switched it out. 09-11 have the aux button.

oh and its not normal you have a 2011 so its suppose the have the aux button on the stereo also wma/mp3 playback.

Good Luck. If all fail you could always check the buy/sell/trade thread there's always someone selling the factory head unit from their 09-11 for a decent price.

I had almost same issue but mine was a stereo with AUX button but had no input in vehicle.

I'll let you know, maybe they can buy it from you. Lol other wise a new one lists for $1600 bucks!!! Which is why they're probably taking so long. Theyre probably trying to find one for cheap. No company wants to eat $1600 for a radio...

My question would be, "Why would the factory put a 3 - 6 year old radio in a brand new 2011 truck? Makes no senses at all."

 

lol yeah. We think the former owner had a aftermarket radio in there, and before trading it in, he just put in "any stock radio"

 

Why not put the one back in it, he took out for the aftermarket one?
