After a while of deciding where to put my panel of six switches, I decided to cut up my cup holder for the Manual Transmission.

Here is a sneak peek of the process. I'll post up the rest and the finished product once I get a picture of a stock Manual Transmission Cup holder. It took me a long time to finish because I only had time to work on it every once in a while.

Can someone please post a picture of the original cup holders for a manual transmission? I forgot to get a picture before I started cutting it up and I would like a before and after shot. Thanks :D

Got the before pictures thanks to ee1284. Thanks man! :D

Here's some more of the pictures in process:

Props to you, OP. I don't have the kind of patience to do that type of detailed work. Looking forward to the installed pics.

I did a similar thing to my auto a few years ago. Yours is a little more involved and uses different switches, but looks great none-the-less.

Just out of curiosity, what all do you guys plan on running with so many switches, in addition to the factory blanks?

Not sure about the OP as I'm on my phone, but my 11 off road only has one or two small blanks under the AC controls. So I added a similar panel for bed lights, off road lights, oba, and winch. The last three are still in progress.

    Thanks man!

Sorry I got called in to work today and it was dark when I got out so I'll get some tomorrow.

I decided to go this route and do all this work because the top of the cup holders have a slight concave surface and I needed it completely flat so there wouldn't be any gaps between the panel and the cup holders. I like the way your's turned out :D

Well two of the blanks on the left side of the dash are used for back up lights and rock lights. Now I have the switch to the lights behind my grill wired to this panel and I will be including a rear light kill switch, a lot more lights, and hopefully an air compressor/tank, winch, and lockers

Nice! I actually put the bed lights switch in the bed though

So did I, I can turn them on or off from either switch, but the in cab switch is also an indicator of the bed lights on or off.

Ah, nice. Did you wire the indicator separately from the switches?

Sort of. The switch I used had two independently wired leds in it. So I tied one into the dash lights so it lights up with everything else when the headlights come on. The other is wired to illuminate when there is power to the bed lights. So regardless of switch position, it only lights up when the bed lights are on.

Here you can see that the bed lights and headlights are on. The bio hazard symbol is the indicator and the words light up with the rest of the dash.

Here is the Super high speed MS paint Wire Diagram I ended up with. Its actually upside down but you get the idea.

Great work OP! That switch panel turned out awesome.

I was tempted to add switches in that location myself but it just seems way to close to the cup holders and the risk of spilling fluids around there makes me nervous. I plan on doing what Fire931 did and putting extra switches in the sunglass holder in the roof or filling the chubby underneath the HVAC controls. I only had one other blank switch in my 2010 TRD Sport and that's where my back up lights are.

Rogue predator, I have 2 switches in the same spot & contemplated a third for a winch however, theoretically under its max 8000 lb capacity it pulls over 400 amps so wouldn't you keep blowing fuses for the winch switch or did you use heavier wire (#2 or #4 AWG)? I'm an electrician and quite savvy with the wiring jobs but I rarely ever work on DC circuits (mainly 600VDC not 12) sorry for the :threadjack: Good job op.

And if you are using carling switches, they are only rated for 20 or 30 amps & iirc I think even a small load (2k lbs or so) still pulls over 50 amps.
