I get what everyone is saying. Yes hids are better in projectors . I get that. If I wasn't a broke college student then I would invest in a retro fit lol. Maybe I'll hold off on them. Idk yet. Anyone know how much a retro fit is. I'm guessing 3 to 5 hundred bucks but idk.

Go for it! I'm assuming the headlights come apart like they do in a Tacoma and you might get on the current TRS group buy.

$300 if you do it yourself for the Morimotos, less if you get in on the group buy.

You can buy a complete set of retrofitted headlights on here typically for under $500. If you pay a professional place that does lighting, expect to pay between $700 - $1,000.

If I were you, I'd keep the stock headlights in your truck for a while, retrofit the smoked ones, then sell off the OEM's. No down time.

That's a good idea. You think of everything lol. How hard would it be retro fit the projectors into the lights. . Do you need to drill into your housing and stuff or is it plug and play. I never done it so I'm a dummy lol

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
I can get brand new in the box oem headlamps for the '06-'09 4runner either sport or regular models for $205 each. The sport models are smoked but both of them have the projectors. One of the other things we do is buy surplus items and we have those in stock now.

You have to bake the headlights to open them up, thread the projector into the housing using the supplied hardware, JB Weld on the shroud (purely aesthetic), reseal the headlights then plug it all in.

What do you mean mini projectors? TRS sells the Morimotos or are you looking for something smaller?

If money were no object, I'd go for LS460 projectors in the headlights and either S2000 or LS430 projectors in the fogs.

The 06-09 sports have smoked headlights? News to me.... And that would be what, $410 for left and right?

Problem is, the bottom edge of the 4Runner projector headlights is wavy shaped, so I need to get a different metal piece for below the headlight. Not only that, it has to be salsa red, which is ridiculously rare :D

Thanks for the shameless company plug anyway Rob ;)

Mean the morimotos but I think it's the mini series.

Money is DEFINITELY an object, I need $1,700 but am aiming for $2,100, for my diving trip on July 6th and I've only got $1,100 saved right now.

Also, I have projectors in my fogs and they work pretty damn well if I don't say so myself :D

I have projector fogs and they actually give a VERY crisp, wide path!

    Now for the headlights....

I wanna do retros and the BHLM, but will get chewed out by my dad, as per usual

Factory projectors in the fogs or aftermarket?

I did the same thing, I retrofitted Blazer projectors in the fog lights and between them and the aftermarket lights I have on the light bar, I have no desire for projectors in the headlights.

Here are my halogen headlights and the Blazer fogs:

The light import on the fogs are pretty good. I have seen couple Tacomas with yellow fogs and they look great. Maybe I'll have to invest in some yellow ones.

Those are HID's in projectors, not just a yellow bulb. If you just want yellow bulbs, Nokya or Putco make decent ones. If you want that crisp cutoff and wide beam pattern, you need projectors.
