    Baby steps :D

But yes, your stock intake already pulls cold air from the fender so all you really gain is some noise. Your best bet would be to buy an aftermarket filter like an AFE Pro Dry and drop it in the stock intake.

If you must go with an aftermarket cold air intake, the URD True Cold Air Intake with MAF calibrator would probably be the best choice followed by Volant, 1st Generation TRD intake and AFE Stage 2Si. The Volant might also require the URD MAF calibrator to avoid error codes.

Does the calibrator enhance performance from the CAI like a chip would?

No, in closed loop operation which is normal, around town driving, nothing would change, in open look, the MAF calibrator sends the ECU the information it needs to make better power in open loop operation.

It corrects for the MAF sensor error codes though. Apparently the Volant intake is known for making turbulence in the intake tube where the MAF sensor is located and this causes the ECU to throw a code. The calibrator eliminates this issue.

CAI arent a total waste. The biggest noticeable difference is in the sound, but many people report better throttle response and SLIGHTLY better gas mileage. I have always got them for my cars and have never been disappointed. Maybe I'm just wasting my money though :)

Sorry, long day at work . . . . The OP hasn't responded, but I've had several PMs.

Sublime - your PM was second behind another member's PM. If that falls through I will let you know.

    Mr Souc: You're after Sublime.

I'll update when the status changes. Thanks for the interest!

I'm waiting on a response from the dude that was first in line via PM. We keep going back and forth (details, shipping estimate, etc.) with a few days of lag between replies. If I don't hear anything by tomorrow afternoon I'll be PM-ing you, Sublime!
