Tacoma uneven at ride height

I was looking at the rear of my brand new Tacoma and I noticed the drivers side rear sits higher. I measured the driver side rear and its about 37-3/4 inches from the ground to the wheel well and the passenger rear is about 35 inches. What could be the cause for the uneven height? My tacoma is a 2012 double cab 4x2 prerunner with only 1000 miles. I havent even owed it for a month yet. Any help is appreciated. I plan on taking it to the dealer in about a week. Will they tell me to let the spring settle? Anyone ever experience this? Thanks.

 

Was it on level ground when you measured ?

 

You're worried about a 1/2" ?

Sleighman diff. has the taco lean driver's side 1/2" lower.....the OP i'm not so sure? Pass side is 2 3/4" lower? That is a lot of Taco leaning the wrong way.

How did you determine all four tires were at the same elevation with a 5' (?) level ?

 

ya noticed the shocks i had on my tacoma for a while were different lengths on either side too!

 

I just lifted my 2012 and noticed this lean also.. Front got fixed with the OME trim packer, but the rear was still 1/2-5/8" lean to drivers side.. So since i got the Progressive 3 leaf AAL from wheelers, i descided to take out the first small leaf on the passenger side, and i still have my overloads in.
After taking it for a spin i parked it back on my level shop floor and re-measured and its almost perfect now. no more lean.

 

Just a passing thought. Is the lean consistent? If you load up the springs & shocks just before parking (a hill, curb, sharp cornering, heavy uneven load, etc), they may not fully unload until the truck is driven again.

 

^^True.. but the lean will always be there..

Ive measured mine multiple times and a couple times ive gotten different measurements bc of this reason.. (spring havent unloaded all the way)

but the most lean ive gotten now is about 1/4"... If it gets worse or my passenger side gets lower then my drivers side, i will put the small leaf back in on the drivers side... but for now its all good..

does anyone know if taking the small leaf out of the progressive AAL is a bad thing? does it provide any type of support for the othe 2 leafs?

 

^^ That's a bummer. Hope I don't ever see this lean in my truck. Anyway, the small leaf is mainly intended to keep the axle from twisting excessively during hard stops or acceleration. Also adds a bit of support for heavier loads. I wouldn't remove it, but you're not me. My choice would probably be to add leafs (leaves?), not take away.

Put it back in today. Sucks that the ubolt that came with the wheelers progressive AAL arent long enough.. I geuss its bc i have the 4 leaf pack not the 3...
But my lean isnt too bad atleast you cant even tell like before. Soo im happy its gone.

 

2 3/4" is rather extreme in my opinion. Take it back to the dealer and make them fix it.
