update. Tried to tighten lower nuts got 1/8th turn out of the 7 o'clock position bolt and it the flange never moved closer. Serviced the oil and put 50-100ml in. Looks like it might be bent

 

Mental note, need to buy diff skid plate asap.

 

i will have something fabbed up for the 9"

 

Pull the third member...clean up the gasket surface...install with high temp (red) RTV...done. Easy as Pie.

 

Except the part where you have to drain the fluid, take the tires off and pull the axles out.

 

Lol, also either pull the axle all the way out or use a jackstaff to support it, don't

Meh, i rested it on the seal, but i was just really careful in doing it. All my jack stands were in use. Saw a bunch of other people do it, and they all rested it on the seals.

 

So what part about that isnt easy as pie? Thats all a given when you say pull the third

How long did it take you guys to reseat the housing?

 

How much should I offer my buddy for a 9" housing. Supposedly from a NASCAR stock car never installed no internals.

 

I have rear discs so that may save a ew minutes, but it usually only about an hour or so to do the whole job.
