I have a 03 extra cab stock everything besides a cap on the back. 4cyl, desperately needs more grunt. How can I modify this to give me some more power?

You can start out by buying a tuning chip on ebay for about $20. That should add at least 20HP on a dyno. Also, try a cold air intake combined with a nice exhaust system and that should add at least another 20-25 HP, it just all depends. Lastly, add some octane booster/fuel treatment to your gas and that should give ya maybe 5hp or so. Adding all that up thats at least another 40-45 HP.

    :D

Woah, woah. Are you claiming that my above statements, which have been tested and have proven to have real-world results, are nothing but fallacies and wishful thinking ?

Trucks! on Spike TV did a STS rear mount turbo on a first gen tacoma. It's a universal kit that you're gonna have to make fit your application, but its for $2000. You're gonna have to spend a lot of extra $$$ to get it tuned though...

I'm pretty sure STS now has a custom kit for the first gen. But its a rear mount (not a fan) and I've heard that they have lots of problems.

Never had any problems on my 1st gen... Torspd has a lot more work done and has had many a problem on his 2nd gen. I don't need another one on a pickup. I'd go front mount on a pickup with a smaller turbo maybe. I'm looking at S/C for this truck.

How about the Supercharged 5.7L Tundra engine into an X-Runner that Toyota themselves developed? 11 sec quarter mile
