hmmm..your first post was a "x2" to respond to "poor bear"

your second post again..echos the term "poor bear"

killing and ditching the meat is illegal for most of our game animals. even if it is a "poor animal".

I will pm you the info. I am going back again in May 2013. This place is located 11-12 hours north of Saskatoon so it is a very long drive. The last town is 4.5 hours before you get to the camp and the rest of the trip is on gravel roads. I shared a rental truck with another hunter this year and looking to do the same for next.

You are so far north these bears have no clue what a human is. They dont run they just sit and look at you. I sat one night for 2 hours and saw over 15 bears.

7 day hunt is $2250 including meals/lodging/license and tags

I can guarantee that you will get a bear if you can make the shot. Lots of color phase bears and huge boars out there also. This camp has many pages of entries into the P&Y score books of bears with 20" skulls or larger. That is my goal next year. I had one in my sight this year but chose the color phase bear

A book was written about this guide and bear camp by Richard P Smith called Black Bear Hunting. I think he has a DVD out too.

You can ask me specific questions if you want. I will PM you the agents website and if you wish to speak directly with the guide I will give you his email contact info.

Eufala isn't that far from me and that is a really good area for nice deer. Call me, you by yourself on that lease.

Always like to get more guys to go on a bear hunt. Your are in the bush in this camp though. Dont expect monogrammed towels and little soaps to be provided.

Your right, I think that it sucks for the 'poor bear' who got killed and suffered. I'm sure getting a arrow wasn't the fastest way to die. I'm against hunting, but I don't care if people do it, I care when people just kill for sport and don't use the animal.

So I wanted to know what happens to the bear after it has been killed in hopes that someone actually eats the meat and uses the hide, vs. just leaving it which I have seen in the past. You don't have to be a dick about it when someone is asking real questions.

You really need to do some research before you make statements like that. Most animals shot with a bow don't even know what has happened to them and they die as quicker than some shot with a gun since there is nothing to scare them. I have had many fall over within sight of where I shot them.

BOWTECH. haha ata boy. and ya, poor bear.... NOT. only reason i hunt them is cuz i want to eat them. Cant buy bear meat at you local grocery store. were you shooting the insanity cpxl? that this is wicked fast.

and yes. for all you peta or non hunters. hunt for food, andthe bonus is to get the joy of being able to mount or make rugs outta these harvested animals to relive them memories forever. and not only that, since the dawn of time, cavemen, yadada, have all hunted, we are simply part of the balance. which is exactly why CA is getting overpopulated with mountain lions. cuz we cant hunt them.

This last statement made me look it up. I don't think you have it exactly right. Permits are allowed for specific circumstances. I had no idea what the current status is, as we typically only hear about attacks on humans.

regardless of what the dfg states, lion numbers have beeen rising tremendously in CA.

and i do have it right, you cant hunt them as in you cant buy a tag. in CA, it is a felony to kill, posess, anything of a mountain lion. I cant even kill one in NV, mount it, and bring it here. or recieve it as a gift. Etc.

i hunt 14K acres in Northern CA, and just two weekends ago had a ma and cub cat walk over my tire prints that i found just after two hours, and they were coming the direction i was. caretaker told me there was nothing he could do. but i thought maybe hed have a permit cuz he has free range cattle. last year i saw three together in the middle of a road at my ranch in Covelo, they didnt even get out of the way of my truck. just sat there, and looked at me.

there is one acception to this though, and it is for a VERY VERY select few in CA.

people that own and have live stock can get a Depredation permit. (not easy to obtain what so ever)

state trappers (which i have no idea how or what they must do) i think the dfg calls on them when tere is a problem. and again i cant even find that online anyhwere

voted out of office due to a LEGAL hunt in his home state-
    http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/08/09/us-usa-california-hunting-idUSBRE87802F20120809

its just sort of stupid. such a predatory animal, hasnt been able to be hunted in 22 years. (bill was passed so in 1990 it stopped) It thorws off the balance, as hunters are part of the ecosystem and the way everything is balanced out. tehre is no management there, just a simple no. sightings are becoming more and more because they are getting thicker and needing more space to roam.

IMHO, its teh liberals that cry about killing these 'innocent beautiful animals' are the ones that bitch and moan when tere is an attack.

Thank god im moving outta this state.

EDIT: after reading the link you sent it pretty much confirms all that i am saying, and mind you, that document is 5 years OLD.

oh and heres a pic of her print.
