I thought you started from vail in bounds and head out of bounds to do the minturn mile. I could be totally wrong though, i have a couple friends that have done it but they have the season pass. You decide if your biking this weekend? they are opening a new trail called cruel and unusual which looks a bit crazy.

well it ends in midturn...so with proper equipment it can be an easy tour into the resort...it follows a road up i believe...and it would be a fun way out

yea i'll be heading up sunday...thinking about heading to WP to check out some new terrain...might just do some XC style and bike my way up and around the mountain...will need to figure a good starting point though..don't want to end up biking back up to my truck

trying to convince a buddy of mine to head up too..he likes climbs so buying a lift ticket would be against his morals haha...so if he doesn't go just downhilling would still be in the picture

You should park in the parking garage, then head down towards the bike park where they hold crankworks. Take that fire road up to any of the 2 way trails or you can ride the fire road quickly all the way to the top and go downhill. If you dont mind the climbing no need for a ticket. winterpark has some super fun easier downhills with berms and jumps and stuff, im stoked if you cant tell!!!

both sound fun!!!! the dakine truck pad goes on tonight, and unpack the snowboard gear and repack with downhill gear. The season should have started already in my opinion though. with the winter we had we should have been at the resorts like 2 weeks ago.

The red light is either the 4wd not engaged or the rear locker is not engaged because you wern't sompletely stopped or in park/clutch not pushed in.

if it's solid, usually means the diff lock is engaged. if it's blinking, then it's having trouble engaging. if you didn't mean to engage your diff lock, then check that out.

Oh yea, true. Same light. Definitely the diff lock if there is a red X where the rear diff is.

    i'm thinking Icarus>upper>lower rooftop>meadow>mountain goat>lttle vasquez>lower long trail

maybe too much to do to prepare the resort from winter season to biking season for them to get it any sooner? could be a $$ thing to...most of the frequent visitors to the mountain, both winter and summer, are season pass holders which means the resort's income caps out. then they'd have to judge how long they can really stay open with that capped income number. you have a good amount of single day/multi day passes sold as well, but you'd have to measure on the conservative side.

i always think that most all decisions made by resorts these days is profit driven. with so many within the resort industry going bankrupt, it makes sense that they have to be conservative with their spending

X2. Solid means engaged, flashing means not engaged.

I think I bumped it with my knee possibly and that's why it wasnt engaging, which is why it was flashing.
    Thanks guys

the driver named bob, is the head of the trestles bike park, super nice guy. good find!!! i saw some pictures of it yesterday but this video is nice.

Ill probably wait till at least my 2nd day of riding before hitting that trail. I usually tend to stick to the boulevard, shy ann, double jeopardy, Rainmaker, no quarter, boot camp, and my favorite part of the mountain ever is at the bottom via beallucanb.

If you want a fast route down the boulevard is a good fast trail, has a rock garden at the top but then is smooth and fast with some jumps but nothing you couldnt roll to check out first. Most the trails have roll arounds, but ballucanb has a couple drops that you have to commit to.

That car and the Toyota version were both at the Denver Auto Show. Pretty cool car for those in the market for a RWD sports car that doesn't cost a fortune. Just needs to be turbo now. ;)
