roof rack for my double cab

what all is needed?? is it even possible,seeing as how i have nothing on my roof now.....like a place to mount one. i really like the look/functionality of them.....so i have been thinking of getting one...just not totally sure yet.

 

Had one on my cab from Yakima. With locks i got it for 280 -300 shipped from rack attack.com Then i moved the rack to the back of the camper (light glare from 100w lights)

Looks odd because of the camper and the lights i think... Just put your thumb over the shell and see if you like it.




This is how it sits now, Moved it to the shell. PITA but i think it was worth it.

The only thing is that the weight would be all in the back rather than in the middle of the truck. It felt more balanced on top of the cab then on the rear like that. When i put the spare up there it was just to much weight up high. So now I only put camping gear and change my driving style.

 

well, you got a great looking setup. i had been thinking about the rack, since they are pretty functional, and extra place for more lights, but i think i'll keep mine as is for now.....may get a rack later on tho. it may look a little odd with just the rack on top of my truck, but i still may get one later on. appreciate the pics man!

 

To expensive! The lights help a great deal. But if I did it again i would just get 2 HID's on the bumper. I have 2 100w hellas 500 and 3 100w lamps up top which give out great light output but 2 HID's would have been cheaper and a cleaner look.

 

here is my light setup.......and it works pretty well for me. 4 hella 500's....2 fog/2 driving light, all 55watt.......havent swapped to 100watt for the driving lights yet, although i may later on, just havent really had a need to do it yet.

 

Guess your fine on lights then lol I got my 100w lamps for the rack for 20 each. *shrugs* work well But after seeing my lights vs HID.. I wasted time and money. XD Oh well, how do you like the Hella fogs? I've been trying to get a pair but things keep coming up.

 

i like them pretty good. they cast a good wide beam too,so its a big plus,especially when on back country roads at night.

 

i love the look of the yakima racks on the cab of our trucks.....just the rack i been thinking about getting one myself
