psi for the beach

    Hey there folks, popping my cherry here with my first post. Just for the record i have a 2012 tacoma trd sport, double cab, long bed and automatic. So far i've only added westin oval nerf bars and slim line window visors, and i say so far cause lurking on this forum i'm getting itchy for some other add ons as well as a small lift. But anyway, my question; Going to be going out onto the beach, for the first time, and wondering what psi people are using for stock tires with just soft beach sand, no rocks at all? Thanks in advance for the replys!

    Try down just a bit and if you find you are getting stuck a little lower. Don't go too crazy as you don't want to lose a bead. Also make sure you have a pump or a VERY nearby air source before you start lowering pressure at all.

    personally i wouldnt go under 20 psi if you have stock tires/wheels and dont do any crazy drifting or donuts when you are aird down low thats how you can pop a bead.

    thanks guys, i think 20 psi sounds good. If its tough going i can always take a little more out but i don't think she'll have any problems shes a tacoma! Yeah, popping the bead is what i want to avoid!! No donuts or 4 wheeling, this is just to get out onto the beach to go to the beach. Beats lugging your crap from the parking lot!! I have a slime plug-in air compressor but want to get a good one thats hard wired to the battery. The beach has free air on the way out to fillem back up...

    I dunno what sand you roll around in, but in anything soft like Pismo, you'd be digging at 20 psi.
    I run 10-12 psi in really soft/silty sand. And I do shit like in my sig and haven't popped a bead yet.

    if your just driving around and not racing or acting like a fool like i do :) go to 15psi and even 12psi if needed if you hotdoging it 20psi on stockers would be ...i promise

    I would be down there but on stock rims I would be afraid to pop a bead at 12 psi personally.

    Thanks for the replys....I went with 20psi and didn't have any problems at all. I barely had to give it any gas to go and its soft beach sand! We'll see how it goes this summer as i'll be down there every weekend....
