    They will always cluster around the queen. We had the cops freaking out a few weeks ago because a swarm had stopped "to rest" in the middle of the sidewalk in the middle of an overpass... right next to the doors to the elevator that goes down to the Metrolink station!

    Street department just set up some barricades and they left an hour or so later after the sidewalk got hot.

    If they were Africanized, he would not have gotten that picture.

    They are there... just not as prevalent as the paranoia indicates.

    According to the LosAngeles County Vector Control guy, 85% of "wild" bee colonies are Africanized.

    That's funny... I just treated 5 traffic signal poles that were LOADED with hives.
    No stings.

    According to a couple of bee keepers I've worked with on this project, they're saying it's closer to 5%. If an Africanized colony is anywhere NEAR human activity, you have dead dogs and people running screaming.
