How much weight do you carry in the back of your truck daily? I notice the 882's with Dakars w/o the D6XL sat level but you eventually added 1.5" shackles and D6XL now and it still sat level. Did the Dakars w/o the 1.5 shackles due to weight sagged therefore you added the 1.5 shackles and it did sit level w/o the 1.5 shackles before as well?

I actually added the 1.5" shackles before I did the AAL. When I first did the suspension install I used the OME stock height shackles but I removed them after a week and replaced them with the All Pro shackles so it's had the longer shackles almost from day one. The D6XL added a little height but not much. I probably got an additional .75" of lift when I did the AAL, but after a couple trips with a full load it leveled out some so now it's probably only .5" (at most) taller than just the stock Dakars. However without the AAL, it would sag with the weight of the topper, the Dakars on their own just don't have a good load capacity.

Typically I don't carry a lot of weight in the back. I generally have the topper on with the hilift and shovel, and my two tool bags (maybe 20#) and sometimes my portable CO2 tank (~60#) in the back. So roughly 100# plus the topper. I guess you have to consider the weight of my rear bumper and tire carrier as well but I don't quite know how much those weigh.

When I'm loaded for a camping trip there is probably another 250# in the bed.

This pic is fully loaded and towing the trailer to give you an idea of the amount of sag with a full load.

Why did you remove the stock height shackles? I want to get a similar setup 881's, trim kit, 10mm and rear Dakars with D6XL but wasn't sure if it'll sit level or not...and if not what shackles do I need to get? Your pic w/o it being settled looks leveled with the stock height shackles...that's why I am asking.

I'm not sure which pic you're talking about. I put the longer shackles on because before I did the AAL, I was bottoming out in the rear when it was just the stock length shackles and loaded with camping gear. The longer shackles helped to keep me off the bumpstops but it still sagged with a load. Then I did the AAL and it was all great after that.

This is the day I put the suspension on with the stock length shackles

This is loaded for a week of camping before the AAL. I put the longer shackles on just for this trip. You can see how its sagging, but at least wasn't hitting the bumpstops.

With the longer shackles, no AAL, and the topper.

How is your bed rack secured to the bed rails? Am I seeing two bolts per plate, through the side of the bed rail?

(I see one bolt on that rear passenger side plate, but two holes... correct?)

Obviously you've put this thing to the test.

And it holds the weight just fine? No problems with the bed flexing during wheeling?

Yeah it's worked out fine so far. I suppose using a longer foot on each side that ran the full length of the bedside would spread the load better, but I haven't had any issues.

I think if anything the rack helps to keep the keep the bed stabalized and flex less.

got to your page by means of looking for ideas on a bed rack and found your page. And man, your truck is definitely personalized and looks amazing. I definitely want a rack like yours for the same reasons you have yours, especially for when i kayak. Again, just wanted to give you some praise on a job well done.

new TG fairlead and receiver shackle. One step closer to the winch. Most likely going with a Warn M8000 with Viking synthetic line.

Nice winch selection. Interested in what you are planning to do with the solenoid box.
