I finally ordered my 3" lift but then wondered will my tires look too goofy and small?

im running 245/75/16's and im hoping i won't have to upsize wheels and tires do to the fact that its kind of expensive for some good looking wheels.

Gotta start somewhere :). Your wheels should be fine but you may want to upsize tires in the future.

Check out my gallery, I had about 3" of lift on mine and the stock 245/75/16 size. Looked a little small but didn't think it looked bad.

It didn't look bad, they looked a little small but I could have lived with it. It looks better with the 285's on it though. I had already ordered the tires before I put the lift on so I could go get them when I got done with it. I spread the lift out over two days while I was working. The shop messed up and ordered 265's for me and I ended up taking them back and getting the 285's. I thought the 265 looked kinda small and when I put the 245 up beside it it was basically the same size. Needless to say the guy at the tire place wasn't happy that I caught his screw up.....aww that doesn't matter. The 245's will look ok till you get some bigger ones.

Actually it may look better on the short bed. The trail limo kinda looks dumpy without a lift on it.

All I did to the driveshaft was put the 1/4" drop on the center bearing. What do you mean problems with the driveshaft? There have been some in the past that have bought a tom woods drive shaft trying to get rid of vibrations but it's a lot easier to just do the CB drop. I doubt seriously you will need to do that. That is an extreme last resort. I think your over thinking this lift. You won't need the differential drop just try it first with the CB drop and see how it goes. If you have any vibrations then try the shims on the rear diff.

i mean like is doing something to the driveshaft a must if you lift or can i just lift it and the truck be ok. im hoping to lift it and not have to worry about the driveshaft being to short or it causing extra wear on the engine do to the distance compensation. i plan on lifting it next week then taking it to florida from north texas and i dont wanna have to worry about the truck breaking down because of the lift along the way.

They will look a little small. Your wheels will take a larger size tire (265/75/16s or 255/85/16s without a problem)
Mine with 3" full OME lift 245/75/16 Dungflops on stock steelies (commuter mode)

With 255/85/16 BFG KM2 on 1st Gen TRDs (off road mode)

Nothing done to my driveshaft & no vibes.
